Har har harrr. The leaked video from the other day is legit! Guess what dropped into the press wire today, huh? A complete press kit confirming Dead Rising 2, complete with pics and the viral video published over the weekend! What's more is that the sequel is now confirmed for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC! Yay for Capcom!

The story in the game is to be set several years after the first game, in a place called Fortune City (casinos, baby! we hit the jackpot!). It's to be developed by Blue Castle (another rumor confirmed), again with Keiji Inafune on the helm as producer.

Specific details about the game are yet to be revealed, but we've got screenshots already. I've also embedded the viral video again below, since it's now considered legit and part of the official press package.

» I called this the other day

It was too obvious that it was made to look how it did. I'm glad they're making a sequel. First game was fun as hell.

i'm glad the hear this game is making it to both the ps3 and 360.

i'll probably hold out for the pc version as it is much more likely to be trained/modded.

This is great but honestly, I would have liked to see it done in a different place. Maybe a hospital or a school. That would be fun, mainly because both are usually very very big and have tons of different types of things that could be used as weapons. Honestly, what are you going to find that can be used as a weapon in a casino? Slot machines? A few tables? Some credit cards? Maybe a few poker chips. Thats about it.

» um

roulette wheels (this one is even in one of the screenshots), dice, all kinds of musical instruments, card shoes...

i mean really no malls around me sell chainsaws or large weapons like a battle axe, but that didn't stop them from including them in the first game...

I'm not gonna lie, the setting does look kind of stupid. A casino? It was easier to include a lot of weapons in a mall scene because a mall can have every kind of store in it. In a casino I don't think they could include such a massive variety of weapons like they did last time, and who is "blue castle" anyways? I'm smelling a disappointment.

There is no variety if the game were to take place in a school or hospital. I don't know if you know this, but hotels/casinos do have stores/gift shops. So it's pretty much like a mall. I don't remember the exact name of the area in the first game, but it that shopping area with the fountain, there is a place like that in Vegas (Venetian I think). Besides, the game is going to take place in a city, so for sure there will be more than just one hotel/casino to visit with it's own share of unique items.

» Well....

What you may not make it evident, but many casinos are themed amusement parks. They can throw anything in there! It's a play ground for all ages. Young, old, perverts, fiends, fun seekers, sports intheusiests..... Whatev! I don't think they could have chosen a better setting.

» I live in Vegas

Your right about the hotels. They are pretty much starting to have mini malls within them.

Ps:I'm pretty sure that dice will be a weapon and if you get lucky 7's all the zombies die around you. Wouldn't that be cool?
