It is a wonder to us why upcoming downloadable game Calling All Cars (previously known as Criminal Crackdown) is not getting a lot of publicity. At its core, the game actually boasts of big industry names such as Sony Incognito Studio as developer and God of War creative director David Jaffe as designer.

Anyway, maybe it can be attributed to the fact that the game doesn't have a concrete release date yet. However, Jaffe mentioned in an interview with FiringSquad, that their team is working hard for the game. He then revealed that they will actually come up with a demo soon (Heads up, guys!) Moving on, it is hard for Jaffe to conceal how proud he is with this creation. He shared:

One of the things I love about working on this game is there is no back story. There's no front story, no middle story...no story at all! It's like Asteroids or Missile Command or Pac Man. It just kind of IS. Some games NEED story; others do not. This one does not. It's cops vs. robbers, very iconic.

The director then explained that Calling All Cars is a sports title at its core. It is exactly because of this, he mentioned, why they decided to make the cars equal (same turn radius, same top speed, same handling, etc.) and the differences would only be reflected on designs. Furthermore, there are only three weapons available for the game (hammer, missile, magnet) that represent different ranges of attacks.

Jaffe then moves on to discuss the multiplayer element of the game. He revealed that aside from a single player mode (against AI), Calling All Cars also supports multiplayer modes. He mentioned,

Multiplayer is the heart and soul of Calling All Cars. We support single player vs. AI but our core modes are: SPLIT SCREEN (2,3,4player split), ONLINE, and ONLINE SPLITSCREEN (letting you and a buddy battle the online world while two are using split screen mode).
