Crytek has no comment: Because Crysis for console rumors persist |

The latest gossip about the hot-cold, alive-then-dead Crysis for console rumor is rooted on the pack of a job listing for a PS3 programmer on Crytek's official website. The juicy bit here is that listed among the responsibilities of the position is "cross platform code development." Crytek's response? ComputerAndVideoGames reports that it's quite typical.
When they managed to contact Crytek CEO Cervat Yerli, all he had to say was: "Nope, no comment on this."
He adds though that they're hiring for CryEgnine 2 Development at the moment. Whatever that means and however that connects with the PS3 programmer job listing is still up in the air.
One thing for certain though, given the fact that the Crysis for consoles rumor just refuses to die, it seems that Crytek is missing out on a large market. That or there are just a lot of people who are miffed with all the "next-gen consoles can't handle Crysis" hype.
We'll update you as soon as a PR person gets sacked er... we mean, as soon as more info on this rumor, is made public.

This Is So Old It's Coming To Playstation 3 And Pc
So, can you tell me how you know it's old?
Letting behing the Next Gen will be like shooting themselves in the foot, especially when you know that the PC version will need a super gorilla config to run it... limiting obviously the number of sales...
As the PS3 seems to be powerful enough for physics... it seems logical that Crytek is willing to port Crysis to PS3 !!!
We've known this for AGES since they've spoken about it in interviews. But what they haven't said is that their PC game Crysis will be coming to next gen consoles. It will probably be a new game, just like Far Cry Instincts was on the XBox.
as long as the PC game is better than the console one i'm happy. and dont screw us PC gamers again by giving the xbox all the versions of the game and the PC never sees anything other than the original.
@Bob Syncal: you wont need a super PC to run this. even Far Cry ran on low end PC's. yea it looked bad, but it still ran. and for games like this it's usually die-hard PC gamers that buy them so they'll already have the hardware good enough to run this at decent settings.
