Crysis - Image 1Even though he thinks console shooters are still "at the level of PC shooters 5-6 years ago", Crytek boss Cevat Yerli did give those wishing to play Crysis on consoles some hope. Here's a quote from Yerli during a recent interview with Game Informer:

...first we want to see how the game is received, publicly and critically, ratings wise, et cetera. We believe it will be received at least as strong as Far Cry. I hope personally a 5% average increase... That would give us an argument to, "OK, let's see how we can bring Crysis to consoles."

If they ever do get to make a console version of the game, Yerli assured gamers that nothing would change apart from the controls. "If we would bring it to console we would keep the sophistication," he said. "We would just make it so people could play it with the joypad and that it would be a great time. We would not dumb down the experience."

"The AI and our gameplay dynamic is our heart," Yerli added. "We can't change that. If you change that, you lose Crysis."

Well in that case I think it's almost a sure thing that Crysis will eventually be coming to the PS3/360.

As good as this game looks, I can't see it being negatively received by anyone.

Of course, they just need to step up the marketing advertisement a bit.

Also, no DirectX 10 on those consoles, let's hope they can still make it as pretty.

Has he even tried a PS3 or 360? I mean seriously making a statement like that with those consoles out is ridiculous. I honestly can't think of any FPS that's really great and only available on PC anymore

» Wots the point in relying on success?

Few ppl can only play the damn thing. Release it on consoles. It wud hav been worth the risk and more preferable than Haze.

» I don't like...

how superficial his statement is...

Relying on reviews and hoping for at least a "5 percent increase"

As said below, the market on PC, especially for such a "sophisticated" title is waaay smaller then that on the console....only due to the fact that people will need $4000+ machines in order to play this full tilt....

Also, whatever happened to the fact that consoles could not handle the crysis engine ? I always knew that was a load of crap...
