Cross-game chat confirmed for next PS3 firmware update? |

A month ago, we heard rumors of cross-game chat finally being introduced to PS3s this month via a firmware update 3.10. We're still just halfway through with October, so there's still time for it to materialize. Or, in this case, be inadvertently confirmed.
Over on the US PlayStation forums, "Naughty Dog Dev" ReklissAbandon may have pretty much confirmed the feature in a response to a question about enemy spectating in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves:
I think they wanted people to have fun and enjoy the show since all dead players can talk to each other no matter what team you are on. But I will suggest it anyway. Not to mention that the next PS3 firmware update is going to allow cross game chat. So if players use that instead of in game communication then they would also be able to communicate enemies positions.
The post has since been edited and deleted, which just makes it all the more deliciously suspicious. We're keeping this tagged as a rumor for now, though. Sony isn't confirming nor denying, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see until the update comes.
Thanks to xscreamx for the tip!

Your lies are getting old Sony. Just say the truth once in a while.

They're gonna say the same thing they've been saying: "We don't comment on rumors and speculation."
I think it's real, and once again, Super_secret was right. He said if they didn't bump into technical issues it'd be out before the end of the year.

Press the PS button whilst your music is playing and you get... the XMB. I'm sure you can figure the rest out.

Check your settings under the music tab in the PS3. There should be a setting for "output frequency". I'm going to assume its current set to 44.1 kHtz. Switch it over to 48 kHtz and you should be able to use the home button again to background music playback while doing basic things within the XMB (such as message writing and picture viewing).

Well, as long as it comes out soon, I'll be happy. Because then everyone will at last shut up about that damn feature! I'm getting tired of hearing about it
