Cagney bringing on the big guns - Image 1

Via the official PlayStation Blog, Simon Phipps, designer for Criterion games, has posted an entry talking to about their upcoming Cagney update for Burnout Paradise (PS3, Xbox 360).

We've seen the details before, but Phipps does mention some specific things that are being done at Criterion to keep their game fresh and noteworthy. For one thing, they're calling 2008 the "Year of Paradise," a year in which the dev team will come up with interesting new things which they hope will enhance the Burnout gaming experience and, as Phipps puts it, "radically change what everyone expects of downloadable content."

In addition to listing the notes for the Cagney update,  Phipps also discussed what's going on with the actual website, as it appears they're posting more content from the team, as well as posting audio and video netcasts that let people know more about the team and the upcoming Cagney update itself.

Lastly, they also announced that they'll be posting on the PlayStation blog on a weekly basis to update folks on the status of Burnout Paradise. Definitely some exciting stuff right there. In the meantime, if you're interested in learning more about the upcoming Cagney update, feel free to head to the source or check the linked article above for the skinny.

Is one of the best devs on the planet. Not one of the games they developed has really sucked. I remember when I got addicted to Burnout 3, then I went online with it...Even with EA's craptastic service, I had loads of fun. I played that game for the entire summer of 2005. I still have yet to get Paradise but I'm definitely buying it next.
