If you're one of the many fans of Criterion's Burnout Paradise (PS3, Xbox 360) waiting for the highly-anticipated Cagney update, then here's a special treat for you owners of the PS3 version: custom soundtracks. Yes, you heard that right: you can now finally burn with your own tracks, your own tunes, and it's easy as pie.

When the Cagney update finally comes, how will PlayStation 3 owners get their own tunes into the Burnout Paradise? For those of us expecting something difficult, or even archaic, nothing can be farther from the truth.

In fact, you can even set your custom soundtrack without even interrupting the game. Just hit the Easydrive menu, select the Soundtrack option, and then Custom. This would bring up the XMB custom soundtracks page, where you can select the tracks you want to play. It's as easy and simple as that, and you can even select whether you want to shuffle or repeat tracks.

Thanks to Criterion, the dream of smashing up your competitor's cars with Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture blaring from your sound system can now be realized. That, dear readers, is class.

» lol @ Bull3tpr00f!

EXACTLY!

I'm rather glad custom soundtracks are coming to burn out... I always assumed the PS3 couldn't do it... I guess Sony slipped it in there without anyone noticing. MLB08 The Show has it too.

» Well....

Developers have always had this option, along with checking and sending messages while you are in-game.....the mistake Sony made is not making it easy, and having to make the devs program it in......since devs were having a hard enough time just getting their game running and shipping it, they did not care about those little extras......now that they are getting more familiar with the PS3 it seems they have the time to add these features....

Sony still should really keep working on a way to embed these features directly into the firmware though....

I knew it was made by Criteron. They pwn at development. I haven't seen one thing from them that sucks, at all.
