They put out two SKU that don't measure up to the PS3 hardware and then after over a year of being in the market then they decide to offer a decent sice hard drive and an HDMI port. Yet they still fall short of the PS3's hardware by not including wi-fi or a high definition player, not to mention that you can only use their proprietary memory cards. If I didn't own a PS3 as well as a 360 I would be pissed. For all the claims they made about being the center of your entertainment center and taking over the living room they sure haven't lived up to any of their claims.

This guy is an idiot, the new SKU wont affect anyone at all who bought the orignal core or premium. You can still go out and get the Damn 120GB hd if you want it (which i feel is pointless). I use my HD to download movies, once i rent them and view them and they are expired i delete them enought said. As far as HDMI, while its nice its really overrated and pointless for anyone who doesn't haev a 1080P set (90% of HD owners). Tests were done PQ is no better on HDMI then over Component in 702P and 1080i. So why do I need a HDMI?? I guess if I didnt want to run my extra optical cable it would come in handy. I 'll save my $$$ and just keep my setup.

MS realised they need a bigger hd to suppport downloads like full games and movies. You have a choice as long as it doesn't effect games, who cares. Bottom line is the 20gb Playstation 3 is fine because you can easily upgrade it to 120gb if you want and add wifi, so you have a choice with the Playstation 3 as well.

The 120gb hard drive is $179. A little more than a generic one but it can be easily detached in seconds. There is a hard drive/memory card reader so that either can be docked and files can be transfered even easier than the PS3.

They still don't have everything that the PS3 has. HDMI output is far from useless. The majority of TVs dont support 1080p through component inputs. They still don't have wi-fi, a web browser or multi flash memory card reader, not to mention the fastest processor. And the reason why I'm upset is because they could have done this from the get go or at least a little sooner. But instead they waited to have sold 10 million units with *****ty, faulty hardware that keeps failing and a loud ass DVD drive. So yeah....... I'm upset.

I know that there are a number of my friends who have had their 360's die on them for no apparent reason, however the important thing is that not once has Microsoft refused to send them a new one to replace it or even given them a hard time. So who really cares if the system dies as long as Microsoft replaces it. Sure it may be an annoyance to not be able to play for a week or two but that's just when you grab an old system out of the closet and go old school for a while.

Don't know if you realize this but MS loses money on every system they sell. They rely on their game sales and other departments in MS itself to make up the money lost in the sale of EACH AND EVERY SYSTEM, and they even did this for the first Xbox. They lost around $125 on each Xbox which after the over 22 million sales came to around $4 billion, and are losing around $126 on each premium Xbox 360. So if MS wanted our money wouldn't they just make everyone pay full price for the system and all the accessories that come with it? Hard Drive

Howdy. Nobody commented on how since the original "core" XBox360 came with ZERO GB hard drive space (because it didn't have one), that game developers are not allowed to make games for the XBox360 that require users to store things on their hard drives. Since the "core" PS3 came with 20GB of space, whether or not that is good compared to the 60 or 120 GB of the high class PS3 or the Elite 360, PS3 developers ARE allowed to store things on hard drives, meaning longer, epic games and uber-fast loadtimes (even though the BlueRay format runs slower than DVD, running off a harddrive is faster than any disc loaded media). Combined with the fact that since the PS3 can load their games on a BlueRay disks as well as play BlueRay movies, the amount of space developers have to cram in all the things that make games great is staggering because the Blue Ray holds many times more information than the DVD format combined with the fact that every PS3 has SOME hard drive space. The Xbox360 add on for HD-DVDs would have been a neat toy if it could help read and play HD-DVD loaded games, but it can not... all it can do is watch movies. So in terms of one tangible way the Elite system hurts Microsoft consumers is that it just makes the gap between the non hard drive having core and the elite Xbox360 all the more jabbing, whereas the elite customers have to pay alot more for something that they will fill up with non-gaming media, which, in turn, goes against Microsoft's stance that the 360 is great because its a pure gaming system and that Sony has taken it's eye off the ball by making an entertainment system that gives features consumers won't want. So my opinion is this: As history has shown us, people like to have more storage space, and developers love to load games up with extra things to make a game more impressive. So by the time games for the 360 have reached their storage limit, games for the PS3 will only just begin to tap into the vast resources available to them. So this argument about the Elite vs PS3 is moot.... the argument over the PS3 vs the 360 in general is the only valid one and continues to rage on. I seem to have already chosen a side. tata, Hopeless PS: Remember how epic Final Fantasy 7 was on the PS1? It came on four discs... now imagine pre-loading discs onto the PS3 hard drive once, and then popping in a game disc to play a seamless 500+ hour MINIMUM journey across different worlds without having to change discs at all..... this, I venture, is possible with the PS3.... XBox360 just has uberfast, gorgeous shooters.... but I bore of shooting things!

i own ps3 20g GB, now that i can use remote play its complete. i changed the internal 20gb HD with a spare 60gb HD, now if ever 60gb aint sufficient i can always transfer all music, movies and pics to my USB HD 1TB. i have a 16 in 1 USB card reader that works with ps3, and pretty much everything that works for the ps3 except that expensive 1080p HDTV which i am currently saving up on. i have 720p/1080i LCD TV 4:3 ratio so its kinda stretched. so im still saving up.

You can copy files from the 20gb to the 120gb and it deletes the files from the 20gb drive. This is for copy protection purposes. What kind of lies are you trying to spread saying it gets deleted from both drives? Would that make any sense whatsoever? Either way it takes 2 seconds to change the drive. The XBOX 360 has the conveince of a memory card. It takes like 5 minutes to swap out the PS3's hard drive and if it's upgraded, the old drive isn't very practical to use anymore. I'm going to try the hack to swap out the 20gb hard drive with a larger one using the old case. The firmware should recognize the bigger HDD after the upcoming firmware update.

After learning how to read I realized that he obviously meant that all of the bonus data that was pre-loaded onto the new 120GB HD will be deleted upon completion of a copy from an older 20 GB HD. This is gay and so am I.

I don't know why all you PS3 owners keep bashing the lack of so many things on the 360, like wireless connection. It's what 2007, who doesn't own a wireless router anyways, and if you don't, you usually have a router, so there ya go. Yeah, it would be nice, but after owning a xbox, usually you have everything you need where you want it for the 360. I for one, am glad the Elite is coming out. Now I have a few more choices. I have been playing the roomates 360 so now, if I wanted, I can get an Elite since I'm working on getting an HDTV that supports HDMI. So for all you haters out there... look at BK and Ronal McDonald. You think they reuined their business by offering several different types of sandwhiches. It just gives the consumer a chance to decide how much and how less he wants to put into a console. But with PS3, it's either go big or go home. I'd rather just go home. I want a kick ass gaming system with some extra features, not a bunch of extra features that comes with a gaming console.

i love my ps3, i got it launch day, the media capabilities are fantastic, no more loading CD's into a HIFI system you just copy all your muic from you mp3 or PSP system on to the hardrive and away you go! Xbox are making newer console, with stuff xbox could have had to start with! ths argument is going to rage on until the next 2 sony/xbox consoles possibly come out. Ps3 owns in the multimedia capabilities. At least ps3's dont break randomly.

Ok first off the elite isnt that much of a waste. but its true it took them forever to come out with that system when they could have done it like a year ago. Secondly without a force hd movie player its only 20 dollars cheaper than the 20 gb ps3 that has a hd player. And the hd dvd player add on cost 200 dollars which makes it more expensive than the 60 gb ps3. Plus no Wi-fi i think manny151 has a strong case going here. The ps3 can do more things than the 360 can still. They only put the hdmi in so they can actually output real 1080p not that converted ***** they have on the 360. So all in all PS3 is still the better system because you can upgrade the hard drive all the way to a TB and you cant do that with the 360. You have to get special made hard drives for the 360 while you can use computer hard drives for the PS3. So PS3 Wins either way :)
