Confirmed EndWar details finally surface |
Ó
We are all familiar with the Tom Clancy series of video game titles. Tom Clancy's EndWar (PS3 and 360), then, should be making all of us excited. And truth be told, we really are quite excited especially now that Ubisoft has announced that the new battles will take place in the unknown grounds of WW III.Gaming site Computer and Video Games (CVG) was able to grab the first concrete details for EndWar. In case you still don't know, the new title is going to be an RTS and the three factions include U.S. Joint Strike Force, European Enforcers, and Russian Spetsnaz. Ubisoft maintained that playing each campaign is different.
As an example, Ubisoft explained that "if the U.S. is conquered in one campaign you can start the next 'to liberate' U.S. soil with a massive new D-Day landing on the East coast." In terms of controls, Ubisoft said that their development team is working hard to make sure that EndWar will feel a natural fit for consoles.
The company added that The Battle for Middle-Earth II is a good test case for exactly what their devs didn't want to do. Aside from controls, the camera view for EndWar has also been made tighter and more up-close. The whole environment is going to be destructible and there's a limit of 12 squads in battle at one time. Part of EGM article reads,
Squads of heavily armed soldiers, when ordered to a cluster of firebombed cars, will automatically take cover in different ways, taking potshots through windows and over hoods. If a soldier gets shot, one of his squad mates will even drag him back to safety.

I was hoping for more of a shooter game but I guess a strategy game is ok... as long as Splinter Cell: Conviction somehow comes out on the PS3 (I heard it was only going to come out for the 360 & Vista).
yea u rigth SPC only for 360 and vista
Even though it may wind up cool and I will eat my words.. It should have been an all out FPS like Battlefield, where every battle helps the outcome of the war... So close.. oh so close..
i was also hoping for a 'battlefield' style shooter. but, i guess there are enough shooters out there as is. too bad though, i like this games premise but RTS' aren't my bag. looks like its COD4 for me!
