Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 PS3 - Image 1After almost teetering on the brink of cancellation (for a short while anyway, and just in paranoid minds), the PS3 version of Command & Conquer 3: Red Alert (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) has finally been revealed.

Electronic Arts has dubbed the the PS3 version as the "Ultimate Edition" as it packs more of a punch content-wise compared to the PC and Xbox 360 releases. I was really hoping it would include Uprising, but no dice. Instead, here's what PS3 owners will get in the US$ 59.99 game:
  • bloopers, outtakes, behind the scenes footage, and developer strategy videos
  • new battleground maps
  • access soundtrack from the game
  • Unit Profiles video encyclopedia
  • exclusive HD version of the "Girls of RA3" video feature

I don't think so. It wasn't mentioned on the listing.

Well C&C on PS1 had mouse support. Don't believe me? Sony developed a Mouse peripheral for the game back then. Even UT3 has KB/M support, so I don't see why this game wouldn't have it. If not, they can very easily patch it in.

And FTW, I'm buying the hell out of this. I was gonna buy it for PC but my rig has a garbage gfx card, so meh.

but that was Westwood studios, EA is only interested in porting the title - the least cost impact. If we see mouse and keyboard support then it is a definite buy. If we don't it's a definite rental.

Well, honestly those "extras" really aren't that "Ultimate" imo. They're the kind of like the weak parts of a LE edition that you really didn't care about in the first place - all you wanted was the figure or demo code.

Tho I must say, that is one killer looking boxart! Very nifty.

Lastly, I havn't played any C&C games in ages and not sure if I want to... wonder what the reviews say.

Like you said hush, this is like extra material in a movie not game.

How could they possibly leave out keyboard + mouse support?

I hope the Controls are the same as they were on PS1, it worked so well.

'New battleground maps' better include 'A Path Beyond 3' + 'Isle Of War 2' (Red Alert Classics).
