Now THAT's how you sell a peripheral. Combine card battling games, high technology, and the power of the PlayStation 3 Eye and you have The Eye of Judgment, a new game coming out in the Fall in Japan and possibly elsewhere.

The game, which has your monster army battling against another army computer or human-controlled monsters, looks pretty good, especially when you're taking into account that the PlayStation Eye is making the image of a monster up from cards that pop up in its way. The Eye of Judgment game itself will come with the videogame, the Eye peripheral, a starter deck, and a play mat for all your dueling needs.

Sony's new Eye peripheral, on the other hand, certainly earns itself its cool name. The Eye has a 120 fps frame rate and works in different lighting environments. It also comes with four mics that allow for clear audio chat without the need for headsets.

Not much else is known about this game, but we're certainly going to keep tabs on it, if only to fantasize about summoning creatures like some Yu-Gi-Oh wannabe.

If this follows the same trend as pokemon and yuikio cards (whatever there called) in Japan then I can see this selling an easy 500,000 PS3 units in Japan.

This is definitly something original from Sony.

Too bad the Xbox Vision Camera isn't being used all that much. This game is definitly showing that Sony is innovating gameplay beyond a controller. I would have expected this from Nintendo to create a pokemon game using a camera because of the millions of people playing pokemon.

its not going to be that great. I'm sick of all these medieval Japanese anime sword games. They should make one with a WWII battleground game.

» WHAT?

yep. who needs to hold something when u can just move yur hand.

by Shatterdome - 2007-04-26 10:08
» Yup...

This is the first super cool thing i've seen from PS3....now as long as the card game doesn't suck, and they make a NA version (which we know for "wacky" japanese products/games from sony japan, is kinda unlikely, but who knows).

We can only hope that MS's colour barcode technology is for something like this for an undisclosed team up with wizards of the coast to publish all their hit card games in this format....yeah right
