Cloud message: Coming Soon - Image 1Remember all the ruckus Square Enix caused when they released a full-page magazine ad with a picture of Cloud and the words "Cloud Message... Coming Soon"?

People (i.e., me) thought it could be anything from a new movie to an actual FFVII remake... I just never thought it would be a book. Yes, a book - a book entitled "Cloud Message."

Didn't see that one coming, did you?

Cloud Message will be released on December 10 in Japan, and will cost JPÂ¥ 1,575 (US$ 16). No hints as to what the book will contain, but Cloud's message had better be that there's going to be a remake. Fat chance of that happening though.

How does this news reflect on the status of the PSP's life cycle?

And uhh...no.The PSP is far from dead.

» OF COURSE I saw it coming.

I've figured it all out. I knew it would be book. You see, the book is just a cover. They are setting the story for something much greater...The book will be discussing the story bridging the gap between end of Crisis Core and beginning of FFVII, while Cloud is in training.

\n this is all a setup...for the true project they've planned all this time. A FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE!!! MUAHAHAHAHA

» wait

why would a hand materialize FROM the head of the *****? thats just nasty. THat's like a hand stick out of the head, originated from it--attached. YOU SICK PERV!

» Don't mean to piss on your parade, but...

When Cloud walks away with Buster Sword at the end of Crisis Core, is that not him making his way to the train that takes him to

Midgar sector 7 (where Tifa finds him, and he's all messed-up and drunk-looking)?

If that's the case, he doesn't do any training and just turns into a severe badass over night. I reckon the book will likely cover the time between FFVII and Advent Children, because wasn't there a gap of about two years or so?

» Kinda interesting

I think a book could be cool, I mean, an rpg should have a lot of character development, so a book would only add to that experience. It would make up for the lack of good story in Advent Children, that is, unless the book sucks.

They'll probably try to make it as a biography or maybe even an autobiography of Cloud's "whole life". Not just parts in between games, but from his early years in Nibelheim to "untold events after" Dirge of Cerberus (since it took place after AC). If it was a biography, then it could probably also mention life after Cloud.

500 Years Later, a book is published...

Actually, I did. You at qj.net didn't seem to do any research on this? A simple google search on "Cloud message" revealed that a previous CLOUD Magazine vol. was released in Dec 2007.

Oh, yes, and I was speaking directly to you and not everyone else who wasn't expecting it.

» yeah...well...

people have been writing FFVII fan fiction for years. A book is a little late.

It's ok, buddy, don't worry. He was being facetious. We're all just hoping for FF7 on the PSP, remade, new graphics, new cutscenes... You know? So when we hear that there's currently no hope for a FF7 remake, we get a bit sad. :
