SF2 sprite comparison - Image 1

Still not a believer in the magic that is HD graphics? You better be. We came across this sprite comparison of Ryu with one sprite coming from the old arcade version of the great grand daddy of them all, Street Fighter II Turbo and the remastered Street Fighter II Turbo HD headed for Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade and Sony's PlayStation 3 online service.

If you examine the images closely, you'll notice that the HD version of Ryu looks absolutely stunning. It's almost comparable to the Guilty Gear X graphics. Just imagine how the backgrounds will look. We're all excited to see the classic Chun-Li again. My, oh my, what exotic tights!

This remastered version of the fighting game that started it all will definitely be the one game to watch out for. Stock up on Microsoft points, boys and girls. This one's going to be worth it.

Almost?

Wait wait wait, the HD sprites are ALMOST comparable to Guilty Gear sprites? Do you not see the picture? They're higher res AND higher quality, a LOT more detailed than Guilty Gear's.

Cool

It looks new sprites look great and look if they were hand drawn. I wonder if they changed the animations. As good as the HD Sprite looks, Guilty Gear has some of the best animatons. Can't wait to see this game in action. Now Capcom, do Street Fighter III 3rd Strike.

You read my mind...

Exactly what I was thinking... Why SF2 Turbo? Maybe they're just testing the waters... Hopefully We'll get HD rehashes of SF3 and maybe even the VS series? O.o

" Exactly what I was thinking... Why SF2 Turbo? Maybe they're just testing the waters... Hopefully We'll get HD rehashes of SF3 and maybe even the VS series? O.o" I could have understood if you said why turbo and not champion edition but street fighter 3 and the VS series (by which you mean capcom vs marvel or snk)? I mean sf3 isn't to bad but the vs games are complete ***** unless they are the only fighting games available at the time that include ken.

...

It's not just SF2 Turbo but Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. That for me, other than SFA3, is one of the best.

weeeeee 3

thank you capcom! attention everyone! after SSF2THDR release, please petition capcom to make Marvel VS Capcom. tnx

You're Damn Right

Street Fighter Alpha 3 is truly THE BEST Street Fighter game to date. (So is SFII Turbo + SFII Turbo Hyper Fighting!). SF3 was disappointing in terms of character-looks except for the smooth sprite motions. I really hope they max out everything for this HD version just like they did for SFA3. Capcom should go back to SFA3 and realise what made SFA3 and the SFII series winners. Hopefully if SFIITurboHD is perfectly executed, it'll be Capcom's apology to me for SF3ThirdStrike. STREET FIGHTER RULES!!!!!!

Am I incorrect

Wasn't this supposed to be for release on the PS3 network?
by - 2007-04-24 11:48:56
Your incorrect

Its for ps3 network + Xbox Live Arcade. Not exclusive to one or the other.
by - 2007-04-24 11:51:06
