Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena multiplayer details |
Ó
Game developer Starbreeze has detailed a few of the multiplayer game modes in Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (PS3, Xbox 360, PC).Aside from the usual deathmatch mode (Dark Athena's allows for up to 12 players), the game also features a Butcher Bay Riot mode where three teams of four try to kill each other.
The teams are divided into guards, mercenaries, and prisoners. The Butcher Bay Riot mode also reportedly includes a weapon purchase system ala Counter-Strike.
The most interesting mode, though, is Pitch Black. Everybody gets thrown into a big, dark arena. One guy gets to be Riddick, complete with night vision and a lethal blade, while the others just get flashlights and guns. If one of the other players manage to spot and kill Riddick, he or she gets to be Riddick in the next round.
Really, the more I hear about this game, the more I can't wait for it to come out. Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is currently scheduled for release next year.

The pitch black mode sounds like a cool party mode, hopefully it has local.
