Kobun Heat doesn't sound like a name that inspires much fear. Then again, so does the name Shirley, but that's beside the point. Wired's Chris Kohler won fifth place in Sega's Virtua Fighter 5 tourney last year, and as a prize, he gets himself immortalized in Virtua Fighter history as Kobun Heat, the character he played in the game.

What do we have today then? Five new screens, featuring Kohler's character in its full, button-mashing glory. As he jokingly mentioned in the comments, Kobun is Mexilack, a Mexican-Black luchador of death and destruction. We might be envious of his entry into gaming history, but we have to wonder... Does Kobun Heat fight as well as Kohler button-mashes, or are they giving him advanced AI?

Expect a battle with Mr. Heat on your PS3 or Xbox 360 when the game comes out. For now, enjoy the screenies.
