Soul Calibur 4 screen - Image 1

If Soul Calibur IV's E3 trailer wasn't enough to fuel you up, here are some fresh screens and concept art to brighten up your day. We already know how stunning Namco Bandai's game looks, yet we can't help but be amazed after seeing this.

Like what we'd expect from the developers of this very successful fighting game series, the character models are topnotch. We'd kill to get our hands on that Mitsurugi figure, Siegfried can't look any better with that major crystal polish on his armor, and Nightmare looks too menacing to handle.

Taki is looking ferocious as usual, in her own sexy way. Tira, as always, looks scary in her jester-esque outfit. No Ivy in sight, but we have plenty of her anyway. There are a couple of nice backdrop shots to look at, and they're quite breathtaking.

Enough chatter. We know you want to see them, so here they are. Don't drool too much.

» I Love Soul Calibur...

...but I am mixed on how this game looks now. The in game screens of the characters don't look as good as I was expecting. Maybe these are from the Wii version or something because the polygon count looks low or somewhat unpolished. Sad to me because I really like these games. Also the choice of character designs look somewhat goofy and whats up with Taki looking so different in the face? I am really hoping these are early screens because I don't enjoy them as much as I was hoping for.

Man don't worry these are the pre alpha of the arcade game and they have another year to fix this so just give it a chance

fighting games are a dead genre. people just expect more gameplay than you can possibly get from a typical tournament style "fight a guy, win, fight another guy" type fighting game. they're going to have to really change it up and add depth if they want to resurrect the genre.

They already did that in this game... they added bouncing boobs so you have to play to se them bounce. Or if you like to see shiny mucle mens too, thats like.. 2 gameplays in one. But you´re right this games are dead end. I only play this at my friends house and got bored in 10 minutes... and thats just playing with the girls

» You're Totally wrong...

Fighting games have given me some of the most re-playability of any game genre, other then FPS....

IF you have friends that also enjoy the game you can waste hours upon hours fighting each other, day after day....

Fighting the CPU is admitedly borring, but as long as you have some friends to fight the fun never stops...

Also, I noticed the full view screens are 1080P, could be the reason they don't look as crazy as expected....not that they look bad at all...

» you right

the pics dont look that great when you look at them close up, her leg looks all fuzzy.

this genre is majorly dried up, thats why mortal kombat did so well it added something new, we need these games to add something totally new or else were just gonna get bored to death. i dont know about you but man friend or pc opponent...i just majorly bored. who cares if it would be ripping off, lets have fatalaties and killing moves and gore. thats what we want.
