CES 2009: Killzone 2 single-player 10 hours long, new vids

Although we all know Killzone 2's multiplayer is going to be wicked, we're all still going to play single-player mode. According to a Sony rep, single-player's going to last around 10 hours. Of course, if you plan to bag every trophy, explore every nook and cranny, or go crazy Helghast hunting, then that number is not for you.

There are also new vids out for the game from CES. They're not direct-feed vids, but you're still gonna want to watch 'em, believe you me.

It has bullet penetration. It's realistic though. You won't be able to spray + pray through a brick wall with some lousy perk and get a kill. As a matter of fact, there are no perks, just balanced abilities, and you can only have one main ability (your actual class ability) and one side-ability. It's awesome.

I have 2 more demo codes for this game but you can't use them till the 5th of Feb for those who want them just give you're email and I'll send them. My topic got erased from gamefaqs for giving demo codes away so i'll give them here.

This game is definitely still the best looking game. I'm gonna go buy the first Killzone again so that I can freshen up a bit on this game.

10 hours long, with me being a VERY slow gamer who likes to go out of his way to explore everything= at least 20 hours for single player. And oh yea, 1000 more hours for multiplayer...

Thanks for clearing that up. I was playing good old Black on PS2 today and was annoyed when bullets wouldn't harm enemies until the glass was broken in front of them...as if the bullet wouldn't go through...

Anyway, thanks again. This game looks like it is going to be EPIC

1. There's online play

2. There's DLC

3. There is more content in the game anyway. Such as extras, different routes to the same destination, etc.

If someone just blew their way thru the game they could probably finish it in 10 hours. If you relished it and explored a bit and squeeze every last drop of fun out of it like me, it'll be much more...

i think its bettr than cod4, gears, and resistance combined. cod4 is my favorite game, but once i played kz2 i realized there is no game like it. and fyy, you cans shoot through some walls, but not concrete walls. although you can blow those upwith a grande or rpg.

as for classes

you have snipers that turninvisible

tactitians that create spawns

sabatours that turn into any enemy

etc.

the best thing though is that KILLZONE 2 will have clan rep.

this means that the more your clan plays together the higher their rep goes up. Then when you clan battle you can bid rep. This will truly show who is the best of the best

the powers that be are using VGs as an infrastructure for microtransactio ns...that is, they'd rather you have some experience with paying for downloads so by the time they're ready to go full virtual...you won't buck it and ask for physical product. Plus, there's a higher margin for them when you choose digital download...so better for them in the long run. Unfortunately, while the corps. make off like bandits (more games actually profiting over time and for a longer time), it screws us to no end (little or no control over owned product,say goodbye to cult classics, "how does one trade a virtual DLC?" ).
