I want electricity powers. Then I don't have to drag my feet through the carpet just to give my friends a shock. Then again, if I could have powers in the first place I'd rather have X-ray vision so I can see through... *cough* poker cards. Anyway, here are some new electrifying gameplay vids of inFamous straight from CES 2009. The last vid is the stage presentation for the game during the event:

InFamous is slated for a release sometimes this Spring.

this game

has me confused. One one hand, the graphics look good, the free-roaming aspect sounds great, and being able to choose your fate sounds even more epic. On the other hand...the running and lightning animations look horrible (I think the Force Unleashed lightning looked much more authentic). Why does it take 50 shots of lightning to kill 1 person? The targeting also looks very loose (the main problem with Force Unleashed which screwed it over big time). Also, the main character looks like an idiot while aiming and shooting. He also has on expression on his face. The game just looks very repetitive...

The animations look great, as well as the transitions form animations. Admitedly, walking around constantly with his hand held out looks a little silly, but that doesn't affect the quality of the animation. I think why it looks like it takes so much to kill someone is that whoever is playing it misses alot.....but at least it seems to give you lots of energy so it's not a big deal if you miss. I played alot of crackdown and this seems like crackdown except with a real story and some depth to the character....i'll most likely be buying it. Also, what game isn't repetetive ? Gears 2, go somehwere, kill locust, go somwhere else, kill locust.....GTA....pick up a mission, drive somewhere, kill people go pick up another mission, repeat......MGS4, go somehwere, sneak around, kill people, go somewhere else, sneak around kill people.....pretty much all games can be considered repetetive....

GTA4

is the epitome of repetitiveness. But MGS4 is all but. You actually interact with the terrain in MGS4, and the terrain changes so it is not repetitive. I think open-world games are all prone to repetitiveness, because once you've seen part of a city most of it will be the same. And free-roaming might make it repetitive because you keep going back and forth across the city. Anyways, it does look epic I might just pick this one up :)
