that the controller for playstation is much more fit for playing any kind of game besides a shooter... which concludes that the only games that your playing on your 360 are Halo and gears.. the only games i kept for my 360 are Vegas 2 and Mass effect. The PS1 had the best games, the PS2 had the best games, and in the not so distant future, the PS3 will also have the best games available (or all the game companies will just start going multiplatform)

I have both systems, but since I recently got my ps3, I've not even turned on my 360. The graphics are like night and day for me on my 52" Samsung LCD panel. The 360 simply does not look as good as the ps3 does on my set.



Furthermore, in order to achieve similar features that I have on my ps3, on the 360 I would have to spend roughly the equivalent of what the ps3 would cost to begin with. So to me, with the PS3 you drop all your money down at once, the 360 just drains it from your wallet over time. While you've already paid off the Ps3, you're still paying off your 360 to achieve a similar feature set.

well, I I prefer the PS3 controller simply because I'm used to it. I own a Psone, a PS2, PSP and I even have a lookalike PS controller for my PC.

Not saying the 360 is bad, but I'm just more used to to a PS controller and I'm sure a lot of the gamers out there are in the same boat as me.

whilst the ps3 has gained momentum in 2008, the 360 has gained even greater momentum in comparison, and so has extended its lead over ps3 by millions (now about 8m). the ps3 won't clawed any of that back until it has a price cut, which i really really hope is coming soon. so if you really think every 360 owner will have a ps3 by the end of this year, then you're delusional.



@viphid - we can all take history and make it fit in with today's world, but this is usually achieved by leaving out the things that don't fit (the lead format ps2 was the most difficult to program, unlike the 360 this gen. ports from ps2 to xbox still resulted in better xbox versions for multiformat games, unlike 360 to ps3 this gen. and i could name more). Also, HD-DVD was for movies only on the 360, not games. So let's look at history for what it is....the past.

i have both 360 and ps3, my prediction is that sony would switch places with microsoft because in the last generation, xbox didn't have many exclusives, that was the reason many people bought the ps2, and now sony is using the same formula. to be honest they are not many 360 exclusive in the past, the only titles i can think of r gears 1 & 2, halo, and forza, don't go mad at me because i play the 360 more than my ps3, i play gears 2, and i am wait for killzone 2, mag, dc universe online, fat princes, infamous, and last but not least god of war 3. the only 360 exclusive that i think which will be released in the future is star ocean, but it is a timed exclusive.

I do have a PS3 and I don't understand why people defend it. I have had it since release day and still don't own a game for it. It is a cool machine, just doesn't really do games very well in my opinion.

But I think the PS3 will last longer.. Just because of the technology and potential it has.. It might not be immediate, but this is really why we get new consoles. Updating the firmware improves the system. If you don't like more features for free, don't have a fast Internet connection, and can't wait just 20-40 minutes, you don't need a PS3.

I don't own a game for it, but I do work at a big "game retail" store. We get to take home whatever game we would like to every day. I have taken several PS3 games home and played them, but haven't found one that suits me. Also, in my opinion, I prefer to play multi-platform games on the 360 because I prefer the controller and all the features the 360 has to offer. Just because I have not purchased any games doesn't mean I haven't played lots of them. Once again, just my opinion.

if i want to use Linux, i simply boot linux, cuz i alredy installed it. from there, i do stuff like homeworks in open office, and so on. because of the keyboard and mouse support, i simply use it as a normal computer.



That's fine and all, but you should really try running Linux on a pc, the ps3 doesn't allow you to really do anything. My 5 year old 600m notebook runs Linux at much greater speeds. Not to mention, what does that have to do with gaming? Sony puts restrictions on your Linux experience, and you praise them for it. I would absolutely love a restriction free experience with Ubuntu 8.10 intrepid ibex, that would be fantastic.

I'm not trying to start an arguement, just saying that it's not much worth doing with the restrictions. Linux distros shine with the open source games and apps that are available for them. Not only that buy different desktops, desktop effects, virtual desktops, and open source image editors like gimp and gimpshop. There just is not much that can be done other than text editing. I do have Ubuntu installed on the PS3 and I was very hopeful that it would be usable, but I was disappointed. I did a lot of tweaks and just can't get it up to par with what I would use it for.

You are not human if you didn't like LBP. MGS4...I mean story mode?? Dude c'mon it's like you in a movie!- the motorcycle chase was EPIC! And as far as recommendations go Uncharted was amazing (very cinematic experience) and...KILLZONE 2!!! (once it comes out)

Why the hell are you trying out Mercs 2 for when you can play Uncharted? Mercs 2 is one of the worst games of 2008. I played the demo for 4 minutes, then quit right away. Terrible game.

mgs4 actually more gives u the option to sneak... having the store in the pause menu gave u option, if u ran out of ammo just buy some, you could either go rambo or if you wanted to you could jus sneak.. i did both at times, thats one of the things i loved about it, sneaking was an OPTION

its annoying how many xbots bash the ps3 knowing more than half of them have yet to pick up a ps3 control. i know i dont know alot about the 360 and refuse to buy 1, i will never ever in my life purchase a 360. i'm not cheap, so i dont care about how everybody mentions that psn is free, its cool but not amazing. i'd gladly pay for psn too. for everybody who says who cares about blu ray, stfu, you guys are stupid, blu ray isnt just about movies, its the possibilities, ps3's hardware with the amount of content a blu ray disc can hold. lbp, and mgs4 are examples... but it doesnt end there, its not gonna end with 2 great exclusives, uncharted 2 is supposed to utilize the ps3's hardware to the fullest, killzone 2 will be amazing as well, i pray God Of War 3 will completely utilize the ps3's power... and max out the blu ray disc, like metal gear. blu ray isnt jus movies... its for those who want the most out of what they payed for (not to mention i got the 60 gig, 600 bucks). the ps3 is an amazing system.

Maybe you should actually use both consoles before deciding which one is better. I actually don't need my ps3 to rock me to sleep at night either. Unlike you I do have all 3 consoles, and I am stating my opinion and I am not biased before even trying all of the consoles. As for the controller deboggle, I don't have any problems using either controller, I just prefer the Xbox 360 controller. Maybe I just have more skill than you?



No one is comparing the dashboards here, who cares about a damn avatar, really? I know when I bought my gaming consoles I thought to myself,"What kind of detail level will my digital myself have?"



Playstation home has been in development for like 3 years and it's still in Beta, and will be for a long time still. Maybe when PS7 comes out we can enjoy living in our fake digital apartments and doing the running man while standing on a table at the mall.



The PS3 does have amazing potential, I do not deny that, but why haven't we seen it yet? I'm sorry, but Home is not all that it was cracked up to be and if people can't see that it's just another way for sony to make money then they are blind.

All three PS consoles have sold to combine for more than 250 million console sales, compared to a little more than 50 million for both Xboxes. So those "millions of people" you referenced have probably never touched an Xbox or its controller, and thus have not seen the light of asymmetrical joysticks



In fact, I'd go as far as saying that if I put you in a room playing the same shooter or racing game on both consoles, switching between the two, and you told me the PS pad is better for either game, I'd think something is wrong with you



Sony can't (or won't) use similar sticks on its controller ever because they would never hear the end of it from MS and its fanboys. I have a PS3 and actually enjoy it a lot more than I thought I would, but games like Warhawk, Resistance, and Motorstorm would be infinitely better with the 360 controller

and I voted PS3. I think the comparison chart explains only half of why PS3 is better, the other half is the games.

Ps3 has way better controllers they are way lighter the looser joy sticks is better it make the system have more exact controls for games such as skate and other games that use both joysticks if the joysticks are not nearly as responsive as a ps3 if you played the same game on a ps3 and an xbox and put them beside each other the ps3 would be much smother and better

capabilities: ok a) ps3 = bluray content (again i agree with whoever said this..) and bluray = 25gb while what is it MS uses in the 360 hddvd? dvd-dl? 9gb? doesnt make for a very immerwsive gaming experience. b) hard drive.. ps included 360 is $100-$150 more for one. c)wireless internet again... $100 add-on for 360, so by the time you get the 360 to the price of the ps3 it still does less and you have more cords and clutter.



controllers. yeah everyone loves the ps styled controller. thats why i see them sold everywhere for PCs. how often do you see an xbox styled controller for sale? oh wait theyre already pc compatible... but how much do they cost? my wireless dualshock style pc controller cost $20 at wal-mart. that style of controller prevails on the consumer market. FACT. imo i never liked the xbox styled controllers original ones were fat and bulky and i hated the way it felt in my hands. i hate the location of the analog sticks too. flame and cry all you want but thats MY OPINION and i have every right to it.

I think you need to check your info. Kodu was finished over a year ago and was being tested by kids since then. They decided to release it because of the popularity of LBP. However, they are two different games. Kodu is literally a development language extreemly simplified to get kids into programing. Yea, you can design levels, but that's what coders do when developing a game. Don't go making claims you know nothing about, Che.
