Capcom: We're not done with HD Remixes - Image 1

"Who the hell are all you people?" "Who said that?"

Capcom wins today's most-news-for-the-day award. Following a slew of Resident Evil news, they're doing a one-two combo by announcing that they have plans of giving more fighting games in their back catalogue the HD Remix treatment. This made my day.

The news comes from Christian Svensson, Capcom's VP of business development and strategic planning. "Not every game needs it" he said, but they're "potentially" going to HD Remix other fighting games in its back catalogue. I'm crossing my fingers for Marvel vs Capcom 2, and there's a good chance it's next in line to be HD Remixed:

Are we done doing HD Remixes? No we're not done. But the next ones that we do will be even better, based on what we learned.

[Marvel vs Capcom 2] would be great to do. There's obviously a fan base for it. It's probably our most requested title. Unfortunately, I wish I had news to share on that front but I don't.

Marvel vs Capcom 3, on the other hand, is less likely to happen:

I would never say never [to an HD Remix of Marvel vs. Capcom 3] but I would say the barriers to doing that are much higher than the barriers for MvC2.

But so what? I'd be happy with Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Darkstalkers.

MvC2 HD i would definately get, no questions asked

meh

I'd rather Marvel Vs Capcom 1 personally. Was a far better and more balanced game. I was massively disappointed with MvsC2's ridiculous button mashing excuse for a fighting game. Can't believe I got a Dreamcast just to play that game back in the day thinking it would be an improvement on the first game. Anyways Capcom would need Marvel's permission before doing anything. Do they have that? Hasn't it been a long time since Capcom did anything to do with Marvel? And to be honest, since I've set SSFIIT HD Remix back to original sprites I haven't felt the urge to use the newer HD sprites. They just don't work quite as well as the old pixel ones, particularly with the animations.

Well would this lower

the value of those extremely rare overpriced Marvel Vs Capcom 2 games especially the PS2 and Xbox Versions since I think Dreamcast version was a less rare.

music

Also the music in the first game was far superior. Remixes of character's classic tunes beats the garbage in MvsC2.

!

The graphics were good enough. I'd still buy it wether it's in HD or not.

nooo, dont do that

I despise Marvel vs Capcom because its a disgrace to fighting games, its just a button masher for people who don't know how to do a hadouken. They should do Capcom vs SNK 2.

bring it. NAO.

I would HELLA LOVE this. Had a blast playing this on Dreamcast.

this would be a good move

SNK/SF games by them selfs (SUCK) yea i said it and I don't care what you think =) MvsC was the Best Fighting game And to this day Still is As they still they have NOT placed out a better one with Good moves and special effects. i am sorry But I hate doing (Back,down,up,left,right,down,up,back,left,right,up,halfspin,Legkick,back,down,left,right,360, X) For one damn Fire Ball. Just not worth my time. (and yes that's a OVER exaggeration) But that's the Way SNK games fill like And what is with the WEAK super movies ? i mean to get all that Power built up just to fire off a Some what bigger fire ball LOL. See with MvsC when you did a Super Move you KNOW your doing it as it's *****ing SWEET.

pfft

Final fight! although Im not sure how timeless it is but I remember it being good in the arcade.

@evilmarshy

AGREED! Oddly enough, I've found myself playing Capcom Vs. SNK a lot recently and think it still looks damn amazing. That is one fighting game that has not aged at all in terms of graphics and gameplay. I don't even think they need to remix it. Just find a way to get it on the PSN with some online play and I'm sold all over again.

FINAL FIGHT HD REMIX!

That's a HELL of an idea! I was recently playing Final Fight on OpenBOR and it would look amazing. If it looks half as good as the BOR version then Capcom could just withdraw from my account right now.

sorry to burst lots of bubbles but...

since MVSC2 is gen 6 game (dreamcast ps2 and so on) there is only a very small chance that this game will be hd remixed because it already looks good with high poly count. and to add more reason, i think EA still owns the rights to all Marvel games, hence no other game company can make/remake any marvel game (there are exceptions to this rule though). tatsunoko vs capcom for xbox live and PSN would be great though. wink wink

You have any proof, via link, that backs up the claim EA has rights to MvC2? Cause from what I remember, It's still capcom title. And I mean think about it, they basically it's up there as the high request. Sorry, until I see more proof backing your claim, I disagree with you. Capcom, please do not make a MvC3 HD remix. Make a MvC3 disc game for next gen. That's what I and many others want.

HEY!HEY!

Finaly I've found someone else noticed the animations are rubbish in SSFIIT HD Remix. Put me off buying the game all together, the HD sprites look great in screen shots but that's because they're not animated properly!
