Capcom execs drop "hint" on RE5 release |

Capcom's much-awaited Resident Evil 5 for Microsoft's Xbox 360 and the Sony PlayStation 3 is still shrouded in deep mystery as a game can get. More statements have been uttered by Capcom's top executives but very little clues have been dropped. So far, the release date is the only detail that has a hint to it."In order to make Capcom more competitive, we will focus on further strengthening development of our core home video games business, marketing efforts and sales efforts," says Capcom CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto. He continued:
We plan to create a title portfolio that accurately reflects the global market share, as well as strengthen our R&D organization and staff. Our title lineup includes many new titles in our existing franchises over the next period, including 'Resident Evil 5'.
That's a pretty long statement with pretty much nothing of value to us regular guys who just want to play the game. The only thing we could assume at this point is that the Japanese boss was pointing at the company's fiscal year that ends March 31, 2008. If that's the case, Capcom may very well be planning the release of RE5 before April next year similar to what they did with RE4 a few years back.
But if you've been a gamer for sometime now, you'd know better than to take release date plans as gospel truth. So what did we learn today? Nothing much, really. Capcom just wants RE5 to ship before their next fiscal cycle begins.

resident evil 5 special edition will have more goodies less loading times for ps3. not for xbox because the graphics will be tone down a bit. more room for a ps3 disc. i wonder if xbox will get three discs. oh yeah halo 3 will boring walking too slow in a fake massive fields. those trailers for halo 3 will not even see graphics because it needs pure (direct x 10)
I don't see how this comment has anything to do with the news article posted. And disc size +/+ graphics.
If RE5 is gonna be as good as the first screens and that in game trailer,then we have a smash hit.But I`m afraid that 5th part of the series will not be so good...dont know just I have that crazy thoughts... I`m a huge fan of RE series. Will the graphx remain the same like the first shoots?! Will be so realistic like they said and run at 60fps?! It's a typical post from an insecure fanboy who has nothing to say except to bash another console.
take your time capcom, make resident evil stand out for the next gen consoles. dont make this franchise a so so, resident evil 4 thought garnered one too many awards is plain bland for my taste, and the PC version is just plain upscaled, flawed on the control department. make this game twice better than dead rising please. oh and im awaiting SSF2THDR, and please also make a PSN version of Marvel VS Capcom Clash Of Super Heroes, we want more arcade trashing. if possible we PSN users would like to battle XBL users too. i'm pretty sure XBL users also want to do battle with us PSN users. online console war anyone?
Theres plenty of good stuff coming out this year to give your PS3 a workout. There's Lair, Heavenly Sword, Haze, maybe even Killzone 2. I don't know about you but I use My PS3 everyday even if I don't play a single game. It's my media center. I can't wait for RE5 either though. I just know that it's going to kick some serious A55.
yea...i'm not too interested into killzone2...the first one was horrible...I also don't like halo that much..not a fps fan... anyway...hope Re5 is good...i didn't like 4 too much....really hope its better then 4(didn't like the story of 4...really liked the whole umbrella conspiracy with zombies more....ie. re1-cv)
It's my media center too,I just mean for games,so next year my PS3 will work for games.Whell it will this year too,but my favourite games are coming next year soo... Man I hate Halo played 1st game and the 2nd,never finish it it`s not cool 4 me just dont know what people see in that Halos. Whell I loved RE4 but not as good old "umbrella conspiracy with zombies" RE:Remake still my favourite
