Ó
Take a trip down the Pacific theater with us as we take a look at the first screenshots of Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War (PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii). The images, leaked from the German official Xbox magazine and several European sites, weren't supposed to be seen until its official unveiling next week. The images definitely keep in the theme of the Call of Duty series, especially now that the latest iteration decided to return to its World War II roots. Utilizing the same engine from the previous title, Call of Duty: World at War is definitely shaping up to be another great installment to CoD legacy.
Check in with us again next week as we cover more news regarding the latest game in the Call of Duty series. In the meantime, you can enjoy the rest of the screenshots we have from the game below.

they made the worlds best game (many agree)
and yet they say the population, wanted another WWII,
i wouldnt mind some kind of civil war or rebellion game, where theres a bit more hatred, not a war where the 2 sides started playing soccer, thats why war is retarded
NO MORE WW GAMES, THEY ARE PATHETIC

But wow, look at those textures. A huge step up from COD4's muddy low-res garbage textures.

I'll agree that the subject has been overused in games and other media but, unlike you, I'm not going to be disrespectful by comparing a World War to a soccer match.

The only reason everyone rides COD4's ***** is because it's a noob game, a 3 year old could get kills with ease. No skill required. Since IW isn't making it and it takes place in th past (that IS where COD started in the first place) everyone is afraid to play it.

And tbh, this game seems like another usual COD-formula. I.e. "Zomg we'll get a big group assembled and send them places have a few of them die then keep going till they winzors lololol GI Joe ftw"
I mean, I seriously think the story will be dumb as hell. The only part of the story I liked in COD4 was when you play that mission where your soul purpose (lol) was to die from radiation poisoning. It was epic. but yeah... I still like WW2 games but if they do nothing new I won't buy. This might be one time where I actually count on reviews before I make the purchase.

I didn't moan... OR complain! ;D

If Call of Duty 5's internet is anywhere as deep as COD4... I might think about glancing at it... but a good story in an online shooter has no purpose to me.

A civil war game would be more exciting. Like a game based in Israel where you have to fight the Palestinians, or something of that nature. Something that truly explores the power of religion and human nature, and one where you don't know the outcome...
WW2 was just a bunch of teenage pawns being thrown at each other. Yes there was the holocaust, but that's not something shooters really can explore, especially since most people didn't find out about all the atrocities until after the war.
