The franchise may have changed over the past few years, but hey, Final Fantasy is still Final Fantasy, and the name still draws eyes over to its games. What do you say to beta-testing the next one? If you do get yourself a copy of Final Fantasy XIII, which is officially in stores today, you stand a chance to become a beta tester for Final Fantasy XIV.

This offer is only available via the PS3 version of FFXIII, with a quick reminder from Sony that Final Fantasy XIV will only be playable on their console.

As for the offer, here's what SCEA senior VP for publisher relations, Rob Dyer, had to say:

Players who purchase a copy of Final Fantasy XIII for PS3 will receive a Final Fantasy XIV secret in-game item and be able to enter for a potential opportunity to become a beta tester for Final Fantasy XIV for PS3.

Included inside copies of the initial production run of Final Fantasy XIII for PS3 are Campaign Codes printed on a special Square Enix Members Point Card. Players can register at Square Enix Members and receive a code to unlock the special Final Fantasy XIV limited offer.

that was back in 2008, thats 3.8% of the current US population. to put it better there is only .2% more people running around with an iPhone.

not seeing how this is sony's fault either.. 360 has FFIX and champions online which are both $2p games...

its an included extra, dont like it? then dont buy the whole game no reason to get online and get pissy about something your not gunna participate in

does the code automatically show up after you enter the code? cause after i entered my code i got a page error, and then redirected to the members home page...

Yes, your code will show up after it was registered into your square enix account. the reason you got an error page is because the website was down.

Hi,

I got two good surprises when I Installed the game (XIII):
- Software Update
- The game interface is in French and it is subtitled in French

Isn't the that a first for North America for Region 1 release?

Something went wrong on the registration site. The one where you add your name and Promotional COde. Something about the server is busy. And when tried to reload the page I came to their "UNDER MAINTENANCE"... Then I desided to do it all over... Then I got stuck with the promotional code.. "It's invalid or already used" WTF!? Did I register sucessfully the first time? And how do I know if I did? I havnt got any e-mail or anything about it.

can someone point out where this secret code is in the game/package? i cant seem to find it. the only code i have here is a leaflet that says "product Registration Card". help?

register the game, from there it will give you the beta code. DO NOT COPY AND PASTE IT, it will screw up because of the spacing and you will receive errors. just manually type it in.

i have registered the game, but it never showed me the code. or i never recieved any code in my email box. the game shows up on my gameshelf but no code.. ??

Looks like this is only available for North-America this offer, in the Euro version of FF13 there is a registration card aswel, but on it there is nothing about a bonus item and the url on the card directs to a "upcoming community site" http://member.eu.square-enix.com...
