Bungie ready to conquer the PS3

Bungie says they are not scared of developing a new IP on the PS3, stating that with its world-class engineering team and now with Activision support, they are now ready conquer new formats. Brian Jarrard, Bungie's community manager, said:

"Oh, sure - we've been Xbox exclusive for a long time. But it's something where we have some of the best engineering folks in the industry on board who are already thinking heard about how our new game universe might manifest itself over various devices."

"That was another big draw to Activision - they have a lot of experience with multiple platforms and technical expertise. I think we'll be able to work with them to leverage their experience and make that a little bit easier for us going forward."

Bungie I love you and your games, don't get me wrong.

But I am unpleasantly surprised about your teaming arrangement. Simple questions I ask thee:

1. What other company is famous for an Incredible FPS series? INFINITY WARD

2. Who was IF partnered with? ACTIVISION

3. Who did Activision just screw over? INFINITY WARD

4. Microsoft screwed You over...figured you guys, out of all devs, would be smart enough to avoid the same fate twice...

Keep in mind how massive Activision is. It's easy to make judgements from behind the monitor, but the truth is, when you've got millions of dollars/pounds on the line, intelligence just doesn't come into it.

I see them come with a great franchise at first just as Harmonix did with GH...then I see then franchise take off very good, after a couple of hits I see Craptivision screw up the franchise like GH with other Devs...and Bungie issuing a lawsuit like IW right now...

I think MS paid Bungie and Activision so that Bungie's next big game would be for 360/PS3, but would look better on 360. Then MS can tout how Bungie's game looks better on 360 !!!

Seriously, I think Bungie may have a tough time on PS3. I would like them to prove me wrong, but they really did nothing technically amazing with halo 3 (they re-used an old engine ffs). Being their first game on PS3....should be interesting.

Still...whatever game it is, it will have awesome matchmaking/lobbies...

Did it get better with Halo 3? 'Cuz I hated it on Halo 2. Well... I guess it was ok: I just hated that you couldn't just set up a custom game and leave it open for anybody to join. If you wanted to play team oddball on midship, you had to play through a LOT of ctf on zanzibar or you had to set up a custom game that you could only invite friends to.

um... well seeing how every game Bungie ever made aside from Halo sucked.. I'm pretty sure I dont care about their next big project cuz I'm pretty sure whatever it is it'll be halo esque they'll call the new charater super sparta instead of Master Cheif though.. oh well .. RIP bungie go the way of Infinity Ward...

I liked Oni very much, it didn't suck, despite being bashed by the critic (though years later I tried to play it again but it didn't age quite well).

Otherwise... as I'm not a fan of FPS games, can't say I liked any other game from Bugie, but didn't try anything else from them besides oni and halo. Let's see what the future brings now that they're back to platforms besides M$ ones.
