Ó
The video clip apparently shows how hacked2123 was able to play a Blu-Ray movie on the PS3 without the disc. We just want to inform you on what level the format has been hacked at this point in time.

The vid made a believer out of me. It'd tight to know if you could play bluray movies that way with composite cables. Nice work.
It takes up too much hard drive space to store movies. I mean yeah they cracked it, so what. How many High def movies can you fit on your hard drive before you fill it up. 2 at the most then what.
I don't believe this.....it just as easily could have been a ripped dvd that was put on the hard drive.
If you take your DVD and convert the video with a ps3 video converter to 1080p your get the same exact stats, audio, and video. I can take a SD tv show convert to 1080p and get the same stats. I would have to see alot more for you to convince me
Lets wait for a better source. The words YouTube and Hacked don't hold much credibility these days.
However here is a recent article with news that the processing keys have been hacked on both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray.

(Put the 2 parts of the URL together)
Down with DRM!
delete them? Like renting movies....for free.
crap cameraman all shakey. Plus a bad quality video even for Youtube, I've uploaded vids that wern't so compressed. So can't tell if the video he has is DVD upscaled or not.
How do we know or not if this is actually Blu-Ray material playing? The quality of the cam is so crap that he could be playing any format on the PS3 (e.g. DVD format). Unless I get a good cam quality with a video guide through of him putting a Blu-Ray movie on his PS3 I'm not beliving anything!
When you upconvert it to 1080p, Does it still show the 25 mbps mp4 video?
on all the movies I have converted yes they do show between 22-25mbps
PS3 has a 4GB file size limit. Unless its split into chunks...I call fake.
No FAT32 has a 4GB size limit.
The movie was split into several files.
They already have a Blu-ray rip program to run on the PS3 using Linux. Then you can use linux to convert it or transfer it to a PC.
Chances are, it was re-encoded.
just so you know
Sony has yet to implement their own BluRay protection on to their disc, the BD+
with AACS cracked, I bet sony and companies involved are making sure BD+ will succeed
cunning... very cunning...
Sony aren't even using BD+ yet. AACS is suppose to be unbreakable. BD+ doesn't have the same rep. Less time and money was spent on it and it'll probably get cracked when it starts getting use. DRM sucks anyway, why wouldn't you what it to get cracked?
know if you can actually play a bluray movie over composite cables???
your question is just plain ridiculous.
you need component or hdmi for ANY HD on ps3. and also a component or hdmi HD capable display.
most LCD tv's today can handle 720p - 1080i
regular 4 by 3 SD tv is just 480i. Some TV with widescreen can also accept 720p-1080i through component/d5 input.
Yes this is the real deal. Check out the "How To".. You can even do the steps for HD-DVD's and SD DVD's.. This will even work for HDTV/TS files. All you do is Rip/ Split the movie in parts of 3.9gb a part and run it through VLC to basicly change the file type to a mpeg ps. There is no quality loss at all.
This has been done by many people now and it is not true bout a 4GB file size lol with in linux u can save the movie on an external hdd and play it via PS3 so u might wanna get ur facts stright and TDN is only 15.79 GB so it can be split and ran into 4 sections via FAT32 didnt u think of that?
you said xche78x but im just asking if the ps3 will cut it off from playing over composite at all or if itll down it to 480i... im not a moron...just asking how the system acts with bluray discs without using a hdmi cable....
