Next-gen violence - and fanservice - coming your way with this gratuitous screenshot update of Conan for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. We keep you abreast on the latest with Nihilistic Studios' slash-em-up that looks to give ol' Kratos some direly-needed competition. By CROM!
Looking at the screenshots, there's a lot to look forward to. Not only are the models looking sharp and convincing, but the environments themselves are spiffy enough to earn the title of next-gen. Blood effects are there, and applied very liberally, yours truly might add - a very important aspect in getting into the role you actually play in the game, which is a musclebound barbarian with a very big sword and a very nasty penchant for dismemberment. Speaking of dismemberment, it looks like you're going to have more than just the chopped-off arm or leg, as you can see in one of the screenshots, most of the soldiers are bisected - that's split in half - from head to unmentionables. Awesome.
More updates as we get them, and yes, we know about the money shot in one of the screenshots. Enjoy (but not too much).

This games looking pretty good. Conan needs some facial expressions though. Oh and its about time some nudity starts popping up in the next gen consoles!

I'm a huge fan of the books and by the looks of some of the media I've seen they're going to stick to where Conan came from. The movie was embarassing. We'll get to see how bad ass he really is.... i'm sold.

While I loved God of War 2 and look forward to Heavenly sword, games like this and Manhunt 2 just don't appeal to me--making the violence (ugh, and breasts, apparently) the main attraction rather than the gameplay just makes this seem so much sicker. In GoW, the violence was anger-driven, and required effort. You feel a rush when you finally take down that hard boss, you aren't just ripping things apart to see how much of the screen you can make red. Just slaughtering things so we can see blood and limbs fly all over? No thanks. Pass the chain swords.
