When BioShock was finally announced for the PlayStation 3, it caused a high which lasted for days. Party's over for the developers, though, as they're now neck-deep in work and very busy with its development.

Over at the PlayStation blogs, 2K Marin executive producer Alyssa Finley wrote a post titled "Meet the teams bringing BioShock to PS3." It gave us a look at who's who in this version of the hit underwater shooter.

As a lot of you may know, the project is based in Novato, California where 2K Marin operates. The studio was started in November of last year with eight people. Finley, as mentioned, took on the role of executive producer, while Jordan Thomas acts as the creative director. Carlos Cuello has taken the point as lead programmer, while Hogarth de la Plante is in charge of the visuals in his position as lead artist. All these people were involved in the original BioShock.

The 2K Marin core isn't alone in this effort as 2K Australia makes a comeback on the new project. As they did in the Xbox 360 version, they're powering the game's tech side in the PS3 port. Mathi Nagarajan, Ben Driehuis, Daniel Lamb, Weicheng Fang, and Tim Cooper are working on rendering graphics and optimizing everything so that the game runs as smoothly as possible.

As the case was with the original BioShock, 2K Boston is the biggest team in the project. Finley writes that they're working on "as yet unnamed components" of the PS3 version. Ian Bond is said to be behind the physics tweaks in the game, but not much else was stated.

On a final note, Finley underscored how challenging it has been to work with teams across three different time zones, but she said it's all been organized well and development is running at 18 hours a day. That's all we have for now, so check back with us for more BioShock updates for the PS3.

With this many ppl involved and cracking at the task, this game should be looking good in terms of development. I hope this version will be at least as good as the 360 version, and hopefully better.

Sounds like extra content for the PS3 version? I got it for PC. Still wondering when those hidden plamids are supposed to come out.

Since I played through the game on my PC, at least they have to integrate Multiplayer on the PS3, or not gonna buy it.

But wait..."as yet unnamed components"?

Do I have a right guess here?

I beat it on the 360 *AND* the PC. Got both endings, and I look forward to visiting Rapture again!
