BioShock 2 - Image 1With the latest issue of Game Informer out, a whole vat of fresh info eventually surfaced about BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams. Oh, wait, sorry about that. 2K Games apparently dropped the 'Sea of Dreams' part already - it's just going to be BioShock 2 from now on.

As confirmed by community manager Elizabeth Tobey: "You won’t be seeing ‘Sea of Dreams’ moving forward, just BioShock 2."

Anyways, moving back to Game Informer tidbits, apparently, Tobey also had to make certain few clarifications.

The internet has been busy these past few days with rumors about what is and is not in BioShock 2. While I won't be giving away any details from the [Game Informer] article here (I'll let you experience it for yourself) I will let you know that there wonÂ’t be any spliced-up rhinos, Soviet invasions, or co-op, but you may very well see a Big Daddy or two. So, yes, there will be multiplayer. But as Eurogamer previously hinted, it's now definite that it won't be co-op. It's sunk. And that most probably applies to all versions: the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

*Update* Care of CVG, we now hear that 2K Games is aiming for a simultaneous release across all three platforms. The operative word here is that they're "aiming" for it. This follows news from the other day that the Xbox 360 might get a timed-exclusivity on BioShock 2, just like the first game.

Meanwhile, 2K Games' representative also told CVG that more details on BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams multiplayer mode will be revealed "soon enough."

» That's fine

Co-op usually detracts from the story since it's harder to pay attention to it while talking to a buddy or two. Would've been nice to have it for another playthru, but I'm OK with this. Probably won't even play the multiplayer that is in

» Well..

I agree that with co-op you don't get the same enjoyment than if you did it yourself... but it brings a whole new kind of interaction and enjoyment.
