Bigtime rumors/spoilers for Grand Theft Auto IV |

Over the course of a few months, we've learned a lot about the upcoming hit Grand Theft Auto 4 from Rockstar North for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 (PS3), from gameplay to release date and even a glimpse of the title's plot. However, the ones below seem like the biggest yet.Before the juicy part though, we have to warn you that we just raised two of our biggest and reddest flags that stand for "Rumor Alert" and "Spoilers Ahead". It's up to you if you want to continue reading or not. With all that jazz said and done, here goes...
According to poster Jadex9 from the GameFAQS boards, the main character of GTA IV is not actually Nikko Bellic but his cousin Roman Petronov. Petronov went to Liberty after having problems with the paramilitary/Mafioso hybrid wing in Estonia. He then invited Bellic to ask for help with his problems with shady characters trying to get into his Taxi-Firm Roman works on a co-operator term.
To be able to familiarize yourself in the game, a couple of prologue missions will be available at the start. These are where you'll play as Nikko Bellic. Before the prologue ends, Nikko goes to his cousin's associate, Mosha, to recover drug money from one of the gangs in Liberty known as Carta Once (Card 11). This gang is based from the Columbian Cartels in GTA III and real-life gang MS-13.
Whether you like it or not, Nikko Bellic will die during this encounter. On the other hand, Roman Petronov will feel guilt and grief because of these events and will eventually turn into a criminal and a "working man". If it turns out to be true, the background story is actually gripping.

- There are three helicopters in the game (all respawn): one police cruiser, one for the Liberty Tree News paper which also became news channel WILC, and one that's owned by a person you'll be working with for most of the game.
- Bikes are out, but six motorcycle types are in.
- C-11 will be a HUGE enemy in the game.
- The Russian and Italian Mafias are at war and you'll get to do missions for both.
- Maibatsu has become a major player in Liberty City, and Monstrositys are the norm in upper-middle class areas.
- You will be mugged/lacked/lumped/begged for money/held-up/car jacked and possibly initiated into three different gangs, where you will be able to climb the ranks, through their own set of missions.

Must be hell of a slow day for you guys to post GameFAQs rumors... really this is even worse than posting all the random crap unrelated to the formats. Seriously, the guy has no credibility whatsoever, why do you go and post about it? really this is getting ridiculous

what sucks the most is that there will be no aeroplanes in the game - this is one of the things that separates GTA from games such as Saints Row. come on Rockstar - add a some planes & this would complete GTA IV [an F-16, Private Jet, Training Plane, Sea Plane, WW2 Fighter & Harrier] Thats my 3 cents [cant b 2 cents coz i went on for a bit] : )
I'm a bit dissapointed by the info. Still I'm going to keep my hopes up, they still delivered good games and I got impressed every times. Just hope they are not taking a step back in the game even if the got good graphics... The point making sequels is usually to add stuff to it.
....sounds like the mad rantings of and internet kid looking for attention, after the first couple bits of leaked info being highly untrue why would anyone really believe this, it seems very uncharacteristic of rockstar and I think that you can trust their official info more than you can trust the leaked info in this case.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a serious news site take something off GameFAQs and post it, that's got to be the lowest of the low. QJ must be desperate for hits, seriously everybody should take this "news" with a grain of salt, like JCP said this is probably just some nerd who gets zero attention in real life so he comes up with sh*t like this so the other GameFAQs nerds will be like "OMG U R TEH AWESOMEZ" GameInformer (who has actually played the game) says the main char IS Niko (that's Niko with one K, not two, this kid doesn't even know how to spell his name), and this guy says it's Roman. Who you gonna believe?
There better be bikes cuz i wanna do stunts with them that was the most fun i had with San Andreas..
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED TO HAPPEN! It would be like Raiden and Snake except with Snake dying at the beginning. Granted, we actually care about Snake so that would be a BAD idea Konami...but for this game it's perfect. BRING ON A BETTER LOOKING PROTAGONIST!

The upcoming GTA is not GTA IV, wtf you guys on about? I mean do the maths firstly (in the 3D series) GTA III, then Vice City (no. 4, or IV), then San Andreas (no. 5 or V), and now theres the one in the making (whatever its too be called) (no. 6 or VI) this upcoming GTA is number 6 or VI, not IV because thats 4 which just so happens to be Vice City
Just had a look around because i been a way for a while this is the first i heard of any new GTA and it just so happens lol that its been officially named GTA IV, can't Rockstar count in Roman Numerals or did they forget they made Vice City and San Andreas? btw, sorry about my brief flame a minute or two ago.
GTA 3 is the last numbered game. vice city/san andreas didnt have a number on them. GTA4 is correct as you count by the numbered games on,ly
Why count by the numbered games? that just messes things up. I count by the releases and i suppose i could be wrong this could even be number 7 but i never owned the the "birds eye view" GTAs but i saw them in action

Vice City and San Andreas are all in the same story of GTAIII's Liberty City, Its called installments folks. This means that they may be revisitted in later games ( like a modern day Vice City and San Andreas) also why they can totally remake the location of the game. Back to the topic, This Jadex9 is a shady character. He says hes the old Jadex that revealed info on GTA: SA months before release about their being jet packs in the game, which was probably a lucky guess in my opinion. I cant wait for this game to come out and 360 4eva suckaaa!!!
A retard is slow i'm not now to me installments would be like Gta III (Liberty City) then Gta Liberty City Stories 2 installments of the same game then there is Gta Vice City and Gta Vice City Stories.. Liberty City and Vice City are 2 seperate games in the same range of games although there stories might mingle a bit its just to stop a new game being out of line with the rest its to tie them all together.. Btw lol on topic some of those features sound good but whether they will appear in the game remains to be seen. :)

i love the game trailers and rumors so far but they should really ask what gamers really want.I loved the mountain and bmx bikes in san andreas why get red of these and also will this game have the climb feature??Every new game that comes out i understand they have to make room for new features but they end up getting red of the good features.and one more feature they should keep the train travel that was wicked!! i am so looking forward to this game getting it on preorder as soon as available!!
