Ben Heck adds a touch of rugged to portable PS3 mod |
Listed in: PS3 Tags: Ben Heckendorn, playstation 3 updates
Last we heard about Ben Heckendorn, he got his own show, aptly called the Ben Heck Show. There, the maestro of modding shares and showcases his prowess doing what he does best. Usually, his designs are sleek and stylish, but when an Afghan couple asked him to build something that can withstand some punishment, this is what he cooked up.

That right there is a PS3 built into a Pelican Storm case, which is designed to handle sensitive equipment. It now houses a 22-inch LCD screen, some speakers, networking, a TV tuner, and some storage space as well. It's not as pretty as Ben Heck's other projects, but this thing can withstand more than just a few bumps and bruises. For the couple in Afghanistan, this sturdy 30-pound system ought to be what they need to get their game on.
