Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Image 1The PS3-exclusive beta for DICE's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (game also on Xbox 360 and PC) is already available for download, so get it while it's still hot. There's a problem with the server, though, but they're working on it quick.

Said the Official BFBC2 Twitter account:

US Client is up, Start downloading, but still some things to iron out in the environment & this will take a bit longer.

Well at least you can get the downloading process done and out of the way, so you'll just go straight to enjoying it once the servers go live. It's at 912MB in size, so just make sure you have enough space on your drives.

That tweet was later on followed up by this one, too:

An Update, just like for the EU will come soon for the US Client & then it's a go!

Go, go, go!

the EU beta for several hours and it's really good. Anyone who enjoyed Bad Company should get to grips with this quite quickly. This is way more fun than MW2.

Been playing this for a good amount of hours. It's great, the destruction is solid and it's only a beta. The controls at first is hard to get used to, especially if you haven't been playing BC1 for a bit like I was(too many others games getting in my way, ;( ).

The controls are slightly altered this time around but when you start getting used to it, you'll be great. :D

BFBC2 is very similar 2 BFBC1, and as for the fully destructable buildings they promiced only a few can be destroyed and the building still blows up in sections... in my opinion im not getting the full game because i rate it 3/10

You ever wonder why it's called a BETA?

The beta is specifically designed for players to get an idea of what the full game will be, and we as players are supposed to give our feedback to the DICE team and suggestions. And if we find any glitches or bugs, again, tell them. The beta is really to make the full game better. Personally, I love the destruction. I know it's only the beta but I know the full game we'll be destroying alot of building. ;D

What you're refering to is a demo...

a beta is an unfinished part of a game that might not even make it in the final product..

Does this need a Beta code or can I snag it from the PS Store? Battfield is the only FPS I can stand to play :D

I mean, I tried it. Solid handling and all. But it didn't feel like there are enough people, and every map seems to be snowy (in the beta) which gets a tad tedious. Also, the gunshot sounds are dissapointingly weak... I might as well be pulling a party popper and pointing it at the bad guys. The background noise felt too distant, too ambient.

Worst of all, though, has to be the graphics. The framerate sucked, and whatever resolution they're running it at, they should try lowering it and putting it through some decent upscaling, because damn it there are just too many jaggies to withstand.

If they sort all of this out before release, though, I can seeing this become a household staple pretty much right away.
