Good news, PS3 owners. DICE and Electronic Arts have officially set a date for Battlefield: Bad Company 2's PS3 beta: November 19. PC gamers, on the other hand, will get in on an open beta in December. There will also be a demo launching early next year.
Here's what you get in what the press release says is "exclusively on the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system":
The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer beta will feature the Arica Harbour map, where up to 24 players can compete in one of the gameÂ’s four intense multiplayer modes called Rush. This new map displays a superb balance of vehicle and infantry combat, as the American assault unit attacks the Russian army base with full force, advancing further through a beautiful desert town and towards the industrial area in a desperate attempt to overtake the Arica Harbour. Heavy vehicle warfare on the first bases gradually turns into an intense infantry fight as the level progresses, showcasing this best-in-class online war experience.
Those in North America can get PS3 beta keys from participating GameStop locations and Gamestop.com starting November 10. All you have to do is reserve a copy of the game. Beta keys will be available for both online and in-store customers. Gamers in Europe and Asia should keep an eye on the game's official site for details.

Whether or not BC2 beta is to take thunder away from MW2, I personally think IW did it to themselves. Activisions arrogance with raising the price of their games right after they complained about the price of the PS3 is horrible business practice. Just makes them hypocrites. Then IW questionable decisions, even some as far as idiotic is not looking to good to the proclaimed beast of MW2. So, while Bad Company 2 will not have the fanbase and hype MW2 will, I think it'll proof to be one of the best Shooters 2010 if not multiplayer of the year.
I got the beta code, so I'll be playing this bad boy. I'm actually curious why DICE didn't give a beta demo to 360 users. Seems very unlike a company who loves making multiplatform games to have an exclusive beta demo.
