Eidos is really showing a lot confidence in Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3, Xbox 360, PC), which they expect to be "one of the stand-out games of the year," with good reason. Such is their confidence that they're planning a four-month campaign to market and create as much buzz as they could for the Caped Crusader's new adventure.

“We have an extensive four-month advertising campaign beginning with teaser print and online advertising,” explained Jon Brooke, head of Eidos UK marketing. "This will be followed up with E3 online video activity and heavyweight online, TV and cinema launch support." This four-month campaign is the biggest of the year for the publisher, and they're really out to make some serious noise.

Says Jon Brooke on Batman: Arkham Asylum

We expect Batman: Arkham Asylum to not only be the biggest game of the summer but one of the stand-out games of the year.

ItÂ’s as close to perfect as weÂ’ve ever come, it looks amazing, plays beautifully and has a rich twisting storyline with enormous replayability. IÂ’m confident enough to say that it will set a new benchmark for licensed games and itÂ’s going to establish itself as one of our best games ever.

Here's a start:

Good to hear such confidence!

Developers are always trying to get around the fact that they didn't do the best they could on a game by saying things like "We did our best". These guys seem totally psyched for people to see their game. Makes it seem like it really will be a great game.

Sounds potentially great. We'll see when it's released though.

kanye west is a gay fish

what a load of balls, i bet it won't be that good at all. Tomb Raider with pointy ears and a cape. Suppose the guy couldn't exactly tell the truth about it otherwise it wouldn't sell.

Also, just because the film was good doesn't mean this is going to be.
