Yeah, yeah, we know, we've already posted tons of articles on bits and pieces of PS3 info, but before you flame us for posting yet another one, we'll clarify that really, the operative word in this post's title is BASIC.That said, we move on to topic at hand: the basic and important stuff you'd want to know about the PS3, regardless of whether you've been a "gamer" all your life or not. See, Sony has posted a question-and-answer feature in the Japanese PlayStation site, and IGN asked a few simple questions about the PS3. So here goes:
- Sony is looking into future variations in console color but as of now, the only model is Clear Black.
- PS and PS2 controllers canNOT be used on the PS3
- Thanks to Bluetooth, the PS3 can support up to seven SIXAXIS controllers connected simultaneously
- The SIXAXIS can be charged while playing
- The PS3 system consumes a maximum of 380 W of power, and this applies to both the 60GB and 20GB versions
- The SIXAXIS battery can be replaced but Sony warns us not to remove the controller's screws except when recycling the battery
- Saved data on the PS3 hard disk can't be copied to a memory card using the memory card adapter. But you CAN transfer data between memory card formats like SD and Memory Stick
- The PS3 supports CPRM (Content Protection for Recordable Media) DVD playback
- TV programs cannot be recorded to the PS3 HDD because it doesn't have a tuner
- You're gonna have to make do with the 20GB storage space you'll get if you buy that version because as of the moment (emphasis on this please) you cannot expand the 20GB model with Wireless LAN (neither at launch nor after purchase)
- If you wanna use your PSP as a remote media player, you're gonna have to get the 60GB model
- Straight out of the box, you'll have eight languages to choose from which you can access from the settings menu. Japanese, English, Dutch, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish languages can be used for display and character input. Korean will be for display only

What does Wi-Fi have to do with storage space? Are you retarded?
I expect this option to come very soon after launch, people would be angry optherwise, though most will get the 60 version anyway.

A: Not currently."
that is what is in the actual IGN Q+A and it's saying the model with no Wi-Fi (20GB model) can't have Wi-Fi added to it. So read a little more before you start flaming... you moron.

Because I'd like to use PS2 controllers even if only for PS2 software on the PS3.
