Avalanche Studios reveals new open-world fantasy title AionGuard |
Ó
Some preliminary details about AionGuard, Avalanche Studios' new open-world fantasy game have been revealed in the pages of the latest issue of Edge. The Just Cause developer claims that AionGuard has been designed to challenge the "finest set-pieces videogaming has to offer". The game focuses on an elite force called the AionGuard, which was described as a mix of WWI dogfighter pilots, Samurai and medieval knights.
Wait, dogfighter pilots? Yeah, apparently the game also features dragons that players can choose to pilot along with the vast armies that they get to command. It's essentially an open-world war game where the goal is to recapture the whole world from the occupying Nazurbaal.
AionGuard's open-world aspect also opens up a lot of strategic choices. Players can go and explore the world to find enemy supply lines or look for friendly tribes that can aid them in storming the enemy strongholds.
Although it still doesn't have a publisher, AionGuard has apparently been in development for two years now. Could it be one of the reasons behind Just Cause 2's (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) delays? Maybe. Keep checking back here for more updates.
