Australian stores open at midnight for PS3 launch |

If you're in the land down under and you love video games, March 23 should be a significant date for you. If you still don't know why, the Sony PlayStation 3 will be officially released on that day and retailers won't wait until the break of dawn to sell their wares. We've got a list of all the retailers across the continent who will be opening shop at midnight to give Sony fans their long awaited bundles of joy. Here are the stores to look out for:
- Dick Smith PowerHouse: all stores except Springwood - 19 stores
- Domayne: all stores except WA - 149 stores
- EB Games: all stores except WA - 150 stores
- Games Wizards: all stores except WA - 21 stores
- Harvey Norman: all stores except WA - 149 stores
- JB Hi Fi: Westfield stores across Australia - 10 stores
- Myer: Sydney city and Melbourne city stores - 2 stores
- TRU: assorted stores - 23 Stores
For all you fans who are anywhere the Pitt Street Mall, Sony will support the launch at the Myer Sydney store. There will be refreshments and an HD screening of Casino Royale on the big screen. In addition, the first 100 PS3's sold will come with a free Blu-ray copy of Talladega Nights.
We're looking forward to getting first hand information on how the PAL version performs. We wish everyone a fun time and we hope no untoward incidents occur in the crowds.

also they have a bundle that includes resistance and motorstorm for $1100 and a coupon for another half price game.
on top of that a voucher booklet which supposedly has $900 worth of discounts in store...
