Australian RRP confirmed for GTA IV Special Edition |

It looks like Australia will be getting an official dose of GTA magic in the form of the Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition. According to a new write-up over at PALGN, Rockstar has confirmed that the game will also have a recommended retail price of AU$ 149.95 to complement America's US$ 89.95 price tag.As we've mentioned previously, the Special Edition will come with a GTA IV art book, a soundtrack CD, an exclusive Rockstar keychain, as well as an exclusive Rockstar duffel bag. Of course, you also get the PS3 or the 360 version of the game too.
Out of all the swag though, that duffel bag has us sold. Expect to hear more about the game and this duffel bag of GTA swag in the coming weeks.

nice to know were not missing out on the special edition goodness, but $149? jeez dunno if they can sell me on that for a duffel bag and a soundtrack.
this game will not be be good on xbox. it won't be compatible with extra hd drive space capacity to go over limts. playstation was meant for gta for a long and still is.

The game itself is a waste of money, but the extras... you might aswell throw your money down the drain. They should of come an extra DVD/ Blu-Ray/ whatever disk it's coming on with behind the scenes of Rockstar, the making of GTA etc.
People, just get GTA4 on it's own, you will have alot more fun with the game then the sh-it that comes with it. Special Edition? pfft.. more like "GTA4: Rip Off Edition"
They won't, the devs have already stated that other than the first mission strand, the games will be different. You think Rockstar won't take advantage of the extra disc space? They will.

yeah whatever dude - thje X360 version will be the same, if not better than the PS3 version [coz of the 2 exclusive episodic content packs]
extra disc space - what about the fact that devs have to duplicate all the data on a disc just to compensate for the slow read speeds?

Actually, Gopal, the in-game TV shows are on the PS3 version only, specifically because of space issues. Please refer to the Gamespot link here:

and read the answer to it.
Please don't think it's necessary to defend everything 360 and bash everything PS3 just because you have just the 360, and try to keep an open mind.
PS3 fans: This goes for you too. Please don't criticize 360 games just because you have only the PS3.

If you were referring to the GTA4 360 version, I don't think there are in-game TV shows on either the PS3 version or the 360 version.

You already showed you don't know what you're talking about with your earlier post on this topic. Only an xbot will tell you over 10 gigs of extra space is not a plus. You know I was right about this dude having a 360 because he claims his opinions are facts. Like every other xbot he feels the need to convince me into feeling the same as he does.
Another mindless xbot and his duplicate data theory. Look here son, I'ma school ya. Devs could repeat every thing on a 360 game 2 times on a blu-ray and still have free space. duplicate data dosen't hurt because it still allows for more space than a dvd9. A blu-ray has nearly 3 times the space of a dvd9, the duplicate data defense dosen't help the fact that M$ is using last-gen media. NOt to mention that EVERY ps3 has a harddrive, devs can have you download the needed data, Spiderman 3 anyone. Compression? wouldn't the dve use the same compression on the ps3 version, thus allowing even more space. Besides they don't duplicate ALL the data.
MYTK posted a link you should look at which says BLU-RAY gives them 25gigs of space to put all sorts of things on the TV's. THE fact that he said blu-ray and 25gb that shows he's not talking about the xbox version. It's ok maybe they can put content on xboxlive and let you pay for it.

Yeah bud, in just about every interview in magazines for this game, someone from Rockstar always states the game is identical across both platforms. It was just in Game Informer, and OXM as well I think.
149 australian dollars is still about 123 US dollars, so australians are getting ripped off (yet again) by about 35 US dollars.
Nowhere has it been said that there will be movies in GTA4.
