Assassin's Creed - Ezio - Image 1What with Trophy support being mandatory now, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Assassin's Creed 2 will be getting Trophies.

However, what does come as a bit of news is that Ubisoft seems to be really decided on having no plans of releaing Trophies for the first game.

Via their Twitter account, they confirmed:

No we won't add trophies in Assassin's Creed PS3 but there will be in Assassin's Creed 2 for sure.

Well, looks like they're really pimping out Ezio. Sorry, Altair, it's back to online petitions for you if you want those Trophies. Leave the Trophy-hunting to the ladies' man, huh?

» Shame..

Trophies might've convinced me to drag myself through that repetitive but pretty joke.

» Lame Ubisoft.

Would it honestly be that difficult to patch in Trophies? You don't even need to think of any, they're already done. Just add them.

"No, we just won't," seems like a childish response.

» I agree with scyik

Its just lazy. If they really cared they'd trophy up the first one.

They don't wanna add trophies to the first game cuz it would take programming time and money, for an update that they'd have to provide for free. I guess it's somewhat understandable, but at the same time i think they should do it anyway. It could give players a reason to re-play the game (which the devs dont necessarily want, they'd rather you buy new games), but more importantly, it could get new people more interested in buying it. Uncharted's sales went up when it was trophy patched, i'm sure the same would happen with Assassin's Creed.

» Why bother?

I don't see why people care so much over worthless online intangible rewards for doing things in a game. I could see if you got some kind of real reward like money but honestly little trophies that show up when strangers look at your profile don't seem like something people should be hungering for, that kind of behavior seems more like a cry for attention or something to me...

» Why not

Given some people are like that but not everyone likes trophies and achievements for attention.

I personaly see them as an extra part of the game, like adding salt and vinegar on chips, you dont have to do it but it tastes a bit better with.

Exactly!

I actually rented uncharted and finished it the day before trophies came out which was also the day I returned it. I then went and brought the game just so I could reply it with trophies.

I also know a few people that dont have AC and probably would buy it if it had trophies so a patch would make more sales.

If they dont want it then I guess they dont want more money. It's thier loss.

As you complete it once there is no reason to play it again unless there is a reason and trophies give that reason.

I just finished Bioshock on PS3 (already finished it on 360) and now I'm going to reply it as I have to get a few more trophies.

It pisses me off when trophies are out and games arnt brought out with them. Saints Row 2 is 1 great example for this. The 360 has achievements for it and the PS3 version has nothing. It came out at the same time when trophies were out bot not manditory so they didnt do them and they refuse to make them.

What a letdown. I like trophies as it gives more of a reason to keep playing. I'm only about 1/4 the way through SR2 and not really interested in going further as the trophies arnt there so its more fun on 360. Thier loss as I didnt buy the 360 version. Trophies would've made me buy it.

» moron

I see you dont have a PS3 or your too stupid and cant get any trophies.

It shows people that your good at playing games.

Whats your PSN id? I want to see the 1 trophy you've got as your too stupid to get any more than that. And thats the free one you get for starting the game.

» Kinda Agree

I think its a nice to have the option for trophies, but in the long run its just something to waste your time with. Not THAT big of a deal dudes.
