Assassin's Creed soundtrack composed by Jesper Kyd |

By this time, we imagine the fans of Assassin's Creed by Ubisoft for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC are well acquainted with game producer Jade Raymond, or even creative director Patrice Desilets. Here's a new pop quiz for you: Who's in charge of Assassin's Creed's sound track?Ubisoft is sending out word that the game's musical scores will be handled by none other than video game/film music composer Jesper Kyd. Many of you will remember Kyd for his work on other stealth-themed titles such as the Hitman series by IO Interactive, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory by Ubisoft Montreal.
Kyd has also worked on the soundtrack for The Chronicles of Spellborn MMORPG by Spellborn NV, and Ubisoft's other upcoming game, Kane and Lynch: Dead Men for the Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3. Jade Raymond explains why Kyd was chosen as Assassin's Creed's composer:
We listened to many composers before finding the right person for AssassinÂ’s Creed. Jesper Kyd turned out to be the perfect match for the title because he is able to create epic historical pieces fused with both traditional medieval instruments and modern synth sounds. For AssassinÂ’s Creed we wanted the score to capture the gruesome atmosphere of medieval warfare but also be edgy and contemporary. Jesper not only achieved this balance but also underlined the changes in gameplay and pacing in a way that immerses the player even further into the AssassinÂ’s Creed experience.
Consider this your reassurance that the developers are keen on making sure that Assassin's Creed will be a treat for not just your eyes, but for your ears. We've also provided for a sample of Kyd's work, in case you're wondering what the game's music will sound like. Just click on the download link below, and you're there.
