Now, here's a clip that'd make for good movie material. We've just managed to pick up the official launch trailer for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, marked for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The trailer will deliver an introduction to the title's setting, and of Altair's role in preventing the Crusades from getting any bloodier. And while we won't spoil anything, we do point out the kick-ass music that accompanies the video - here's to hoping there's more of these tracks in-game.

As a recap, Assassin's Creed for North America has already launched, with Australia and New Zealand expected to receive it by November 21 (due to shortages, it seems). In either case, consider this trailer one for the road, as you trot off to purchase the actual game. Happy viewing!

it's the

14th... called Gamestop on it cuz I'd heard the 13th but not gotten my preorder reminder call. ... good god... is this for real.? I've been waiting for this game for what seems like centuries... ... if you pinch me and I wake up and there's no Assassin's Creed tomorrow... havoc I say... HACOC!!! ... sorry end of a long work day.

It does feel like forever

All this time waiting for this game, and the reviews are fairly disappointing. 7/10 from both 1UP and GameSpy and 7.7/10 from IGN :( It seems to be unanimous that the gameplay itself is pretty good, but it gets extremely repetitive and boring half-way through. And most of the reviews which gave the game higher than 8/10 admitted they didn't play the whole thing in its entirety. I'm still picking up the limited edition tomorrow, but I'll be sad if the game really gets as boring as these people say.
