Assassin's Creed

It's a good start to the morning when you stumble across some sweet new screens of one the PS3's most talked about titles. Ubisoft Montreal have been working on this impressive looking game since they finished work on Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and it's looking mighty fine indeed. Assassin's Creed puts you smack dab in the middle of the 12th Century during the time of the Crusades (fun for the whole family!) In the swanky suede shoes of an athletically gifted assassin you'll navigate complex environments inhabited by living breathing people in order to eliminate your target whenever you please and where ever he (or she) may be. But enough talk, have at the screens!

» wow

I'm shocked at how good it looks (in screenshots and in motion). This game will probably do for PS3 what GTA did for PS2.

» >> confirmed PS3 exclusive?

Is it confirmed that Assassin's Creed is exclusive to the PS3 or just speculated. I read that it may come out in 2007 for XBOX 360, thus meaning non-exclusive. Also the demo that was shown at E3 was rumored to be running on the xbox 360 with a 3rd party PlayStation controller, which is pretty funny... considering it won a bunch of "Best Game @ E3" for the PS3.

Either way it does look amazing and I'll be getting it on whatever system it comes out on.

those are some already old rumors that have been knocked down a few times before. Assasins Creed was originally slated for the xbox360 but they brought it over to the ps3 for some reason, maybe hardware capabilities or game politics, what ever. The demo shown at E3 was running off a PC not xbox360. So far it is deemed as an exlusive to the ps3, may or may not change, but i know its going to be a must have for me.

The game was swhown on PS3, numerous times, there's a GameInformer arrticle on it, of fourse running off PS3.

In the oficial announcement there's only PlayStation 3 mentioned, on the official site there's only PS3 logo, and the PlayStation 3 is the only platform mentioned in interviews by developers.

So yes, it's PS3 exclusive.

» Meh

Well first off. Why does every PS3 fanboy care so much about exclusives.

And second - Are you guys kidding me; these screens look average at best. Like POP with new textures and lighting. But maybe i expect more from all the hype.

» what?!?

quite strange - this games clearly out shines any current 360 game, and this develpoment is early, its released in 2007...

» ........

Be for real peeps.....Yes the game looks great......No the game doesn't shine above all 360 games........Stop being a fan boy......I love my 360 and I look forward to playing this game on the 360 because even if it does come out on the PS3, I know it will be on the 360 within 6 months so no big deal.......They will make it for the 360 just like it will be on the PC in do time....I believe most games should be on all systems so that everyone can enjoy them and not try to make peeps decide which system to buy........

Most games aren't going to be on all systems because console manufaturers aren't gonna let it happen. All of them want to make the most money and market share, thats why they all get out to get the most exclusive, that is why Playstation won last generation and the same will probably happen for the next one.

by DeathX - 2006-06-13 19:25
» No, thats correct.

bob dole (or #6): No, this was the team who made the Sands of Time, the other two games were made by another team. After they finished Sands of Time they started production on this.

Lurker (or #11): Exclusives are what make a console. If every console had every game, there would be no reason to have multiple systems in the first place. And 'PS3 Fanboys' are not the only ones who care about exclustivity, goto the Halo 3 forums and suggest to them that Halo 3 should not be 360 exclusive and that it might come out on PS3. I dare you.

And Assassin's Creed is a PlayStation 3 exclusive.

Sorry but I still don't see what's so amazing about this game. The pics look great but nothing mindblowing, nothing near MGS4 or Gears of War level, gameplay looks as a mix of stealth + platforming, something that has yet to prove to work. The only thing that gets me interested about this game is to see so many ppl interested, but the game itself isn't yet there for its own merits.

I can't say if the graphics are good. The images are actually small. Low-res-textures would look good and normal textures like bump-mapping.

Give me a few high-res screenshots and I can tell you if the graphic's good ;)

by chief - 2006-06-14 05:56
» its not the graphics

its the game engine, its how the character interacts with the npc's, the way he moves/shoves them out the way and how they react to him when he looks suspicuos thats what makes this game so appealing to some but in all the graphics are good too.

by Figboy - 2006-06-14 16:39
» considering...

considering that the game spans a huge world (it's open world sandbox style), and maintains that level of quality visually is amazing. but i recommend to those that know nothing about the game to read up on it. Game Informer had an in depth story on it, and, if Ubisoft can pull of it's ambitious design, it's going to be the PS3's first killer app (and everyone probably thought MGS4 would have that title).

by viper - 2006-06-23 04:59
» best game i ever saw

well im thinking about buying the ps3 just for this game and the pics look excilent and not average
