Hoping that Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed will have a demo ready for its incarnations on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3? By way of a recent interview we found between game producer Jade Raymond and Gamersyde, we've managed to pick up word on this possibility, along with several other details.

First, regarding the demo - Raymond says there isn't going to be any. The producer explained that because Assassin's Creed was a sandbox-style game that spanned three (very) large cities, the developers felt that a demo would not be able to encompass the title properly.

That bad news aside, Raymond did reveal some other juicy details for their upcoming title. For one, the core gameplay will take about 18 hours to finish - that's a straight play-thru without taking any of the side quests or optional missions. With all the trimmings, however, Assassin's Creed will keep you busy for more than double that time, at roughly 40 hours.

On a strange note, Raymond also details that Assassin's Creed creative director Patrick Desilet was thinking of making a game set during the time of Jesus Christ. You can find more details of these info snippets via the 12-minute long interview below. Happy viewing!

» cool

Is Jesus Christ a playable character? That would be sweet! He should have hollywood style catch phrases like "I'm going to get mideval on your ass" before a brutal assasination of Judas.

» LOL

so funny, she's french but she's talking in english with french subtitles LOL

Anyway, (still lauphing in background :D) 40 hours is A LOT MORE than what I thought, WOW! I already knew that I'd buy this game on day one, but wow, this is marvelous. Also, for the demo, I'm REALLY HAPPY, I'm sick of knowing too much about this game! Still, I think they should pop a really small demo (maybe just inside a building?) for people who never played the prince of persia games or for the ones who disliked them (maybe they'll love this one? would be a bit wierd but still).

ps: It's cool being able to listen to this video and understand everything (I'm from Québec and it's as much french as english lol).

» I love Jade but...

dude, Ubisoft is either wearing her out or she's decided to stop putting on makeup. She looks like 10 years older than when I first saw her last year.

What game? Demo? I already pre-ordered it.

Now, back to Jade.

» She doesn't want you.

She isn't French. You have to come from the country called France to be French. I can speak Chinese, but I am not Chinese.
