Assassin's Creed for the PS3 and Xbox 360 bogged down by crashes? |
Ó
It seems that Ubisoft's highly-original game about a man in white shanking people in the back in the times where he's not hopping from rooftop to rooftop - Assassin's Creed for the Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and PC - has its own share of the post-launch gremlins, as a lot of Sony PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users have been complaining of the game having a lot of glitches. And no, it's not about the clipping or the screen tearing or the framerate dropping - it's the game-stopping freezing that everyone's all up in arms about.
Fortunately, it seems that Ubisoft is on the ball concerning the issues with their latest next-gen masterpiece, with CouchZombie, the forum manager, responding about how they're looking into the matter at hand. The post, as is, ran:
***update*** we are officially looking into this and hope to have it resolved shortly.
While it doesn't say much about what Ubisoft is planning to do, or if we will see a patch to resolve these issues in the near future, it does confirm that Ubisoft knows what's wrong with their game. Here's hoping for an early update regarding these issues, so we can all go back to the next-gen shanking.

Haven't had a freeze yet. But I've only played the game for 3 or 4 hours. Hopefully they fixed this quickly for all those affected.
5 hours straight, now in Jerusalem.
Not one crash so far.

I'm about 10 hrs in and have had no problems with my PS3 version. Guess i have to get a little farther in to find them.
what ever happened to quality control? back in the day games didn't need patches to work correctly ¬_¬
This sucks, because I don't have Live! to install patches.
Yeah, and back in the old days games wheren't that complex like nowa days
I could be because games are so much more complicated and literally 10 to 20 times larger. (in amount of code) There is simply more room for error. This doesn't excuse the bugs, but may explain why we see more and more each new generation. By the way, I am about 5 hrs in to the game as well and haven't had a freeze yet either.
How is the game? Is it any good?
they say that allot of gamers are getting bogged down by crashes... but none of us have had a crash yet...
makes me laugh...
i just got to acre, about 3-4 hours in game, no crash yet, but i did have a red light scare (not to do with the game i am for sure)
I just got two in a row, not in the same place. One from riding from the starting town to Jerusalem, and one from interrogating someone in Jerusalem. It just freezes and doesn't start again. Although I had no problems yesterday now I'm starting to get them.
I just got another one this is realllllllllly annoying.
What systems you guys playing the game on?
Think about it, this game isn't easy to stop playing once you start. You can find yourself sitting for 2 hours straight and not even notice it, people's systems are probably overheating. The new generation of consoles get a lot hotter than the last generation, these can't always push 4+ hours without crashing.
while loading. I was just playing and ran into this one girl and it froze (the music was still playing and I could move the camera but everything else just stopped.)
This is really getting annoying when your trying to play this game cause it takes a while to get to know where your going exactly.
Cause when I got Call of duty 4 I played it with a friend till like almost 4 in the morning and it didnt freeze (same with all my other games.)
& PS3s dont overheat unless you like throw it in a volcano or somthing. (& i know from experience cause I left my PS3 on for like 2 days straight once & it didnt overheat.)
Assassin's Creed is the only game that this has happen to this many times in a row, so put two and two together and you'd know its the game (2+2=4)
What I do get is an almost insufferable drop in framerate in one large section of Jerusalem. A little south of the center of the rich district, around where the Assassin's Bureau is. Game just turns into a slideshow, reallllly annoying.
What I've been hearing about is people getting random drops in framerate, but this happens to me every time, always in the exact same section of Jerusalem. I've been through the whole game world now and it doesn't lag anywhere else. WTF?
Game is still amazing tho
I often play for 6 hours or longer. Halo 3 played straight through for 11 hours.
Sometimes have to leave the box paused half a day as I never got to a save point? The console will after 20 minutes be at a temperature that remains stable unless your a retard and put it inna closed space.
The game has everything to be a game to beat all others but it was rushed and suffers. I dont care how long they were busy developing it, they should have taken longer and got it right. I think paying 60 Bucks to be a Beta tester is a joke.
Yar, that can be true. Except I'd just loaded the game on a "cold" system and started playing yesterday and within 5 mins I locked up. Took a deep breath and restarted console and happened again in a different instance. Really peeved me off since I had put the controller down for a week or so because of that mess. Have no problems with any other game, by the way. Think I may just trade her in later today or something. :[
Sweet merciful trout, you is correct :
