Assassin's Creed 2 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) is still due for a November 17 release, but already we're talking about its ending, and according to its creative director Patrice Désilets, we won't see it coming and it's gonna be one hell of a cliffhanger.

"I'm telling you. At the end of AC2 you'll say‚ 'Holy crap, I never saw it coming," he said, adding that you'll go, "But what happens next?!" right after. Désilets says that despite answering a lot of questions revolving the plot, Assassin's Creed 2 will still leave some more room to leave us wanting more. "There will be a cliffhanger," he admitted. "It's cool to have a cliffhanger," he added.

And about the glowing writing on the wall, Désilets confirms that it has nothing to do with AC2. "It has nothing to do with Assassin's Creed II, what's written on the wall has to do with the Assassin's Creed universe, not the second one," he said.

Seeing as Assassin's Creed is a trilogy, it makes perfect sense to set the last part up.

I mean the first game had a "WTF" ending which was a cliff hanger and people were fine with it (in time) this ones ending will have to 1up the last one and piss more people off lol.

I didn't see the ending to first one, because i thought i was still playing the game until the credits suddenly started rolling and I threw my controller in a fit of rage *Disgusted by the cheap a$$ cliffhanger*.

I hope that Ubisoft don't do a 'Holy crap, I never saw it coming," as in *I can't believe that they'd make yet another s**t ending, even worse than the first one.

It's probably something like: as you are about to kill the "last boss" in the game, Desmond is yanked out of the Animus by the "last boss", who is immortal or has been drinking form the fountain of youth. Game ends there.

did any of you posters even actually play the game? assassins creed cliffhanger wasnt really a cliffhanger if you can understand more then just what you learn on tv. why dont you actually dig up information on templars and you will find plenty of things that match up with the games ending. It tells of coming events that may happen to the human race. I guess the ambition to seek knowledge and educate oneself doesnt rest in that many peoples heads or hearts. These events may just happen too, too many sleeping people results in no counterattack.

I guess we do have a lack of ambition, but not "to seek knowledge and educate oneself". We, or at least I, just don't care about this stuff. If the events actually happen I couldn't care less.

Anyways, why would I want possibly spoil the ending to the game :3

eclipze, if you cant understand whats going on around you, then why dont you sit silenty. By the way, assassins creed has nothing to do with metal gear solid, they are completly different games and there will be a cold day in hell before the two tie into each other. You say you dont care about coming events, which in this viewpoint, tells me your nothing but a teen, preteen, or a crying sniffling child. You dont have to work for your own things, you sound like you get handed everything on a silver platter. How did i ruin the ending? All i said was to look up information on templars, stop trying to patronize me with your own misunderstandin gs. By the way, i bet you anything that the last game (Assassins Creed 3) will be released either at the end of 2011 or the beginning of 2012.

If you don't care about AC2 and don't intend to play it why post in an AC2 article? lol

BTW I don't think Ubi needs your advice, seeing as how AC sold millions and generated tens of thousands of topics on the net about the cliffhanger ending and story in general. AC2 will sell more because people do want to see how the story continues. Just because you don't care about the story doesn't mean no one else does lol
