Armored Core 4 for PS3 Finally Available By November 2006 |

After missing its supposed summer release, Armored Core now promises its fans (the ones looking to purchase a PS3) can now look forward to a definite date to grab a copy of Armored Core 4, the game that would most likely be the first one that you can get for the PS3. A November release of the title has been confirmed in the latest issue of Famitsu, and because of its proximity to the release date of the PS3 itself, many are speculating as to whether the game would be available on the day of the launch of the console itself or shortly afterwards.
Famitsu has also included a few details of the plot of the game, which supposedly takes place five years after a new world order has been established and people are under a new system that is referred to as Pax Economica. This new social order can be considered either as slavery or socialism, depending on one's point of view.
As for gameplay specifics, however, the only detail that has currently been disclosed is that the title can support up to eight players.
Sadly though, Xbox 360 owners are yet to know when they can get their hands on this game as only the details for the PS3 version have been announced as of now.

Fortunately, the 360 version have been cancel.
In the official Armored Core 4 site there isn't anything about 360 anymore, so there is a possibility that 360-version has been cancelled.
Or maybe, just maybe, the enthasist for developers of PS3 LAUNCH games is to focus on the PS3 for now. There's a deadline for PS3 launch games, the 360 has launched already so the game can arrive anytime next year.
Therefore the 360 version is still in developement until we hear otherwise.

And I'm not sure where you got the idea that I have an XBox 360, because I'm waiting for my PS3 console (pre-ordered). I may get a 360 in future (mostly for Halo 3), I may get a Wii (less likely though), but the PS3 is the main console I'm looking forward too.

two developers whos budgets are probably very small pull projects for the PS3 until they can build some capital. the media's like: "OMFG!! DEVELOPERS ARE JUMPING FROM THE SINKING SHIP THAT IS THE PS3!!!"
Atari isn't releasing games until 2007 (like, oh, 95% of the developers in the gaming industry) and the media's like: "OMFG! ATARI ISN'T PUTTING ANY GAMES OUT ON THE PS3 UNTIL 2007!! THAT'S LIKE, 8 YEARS AWAY! PS3 IS TEH DOOMED!!!"
SNK, a company that makes niche, 2D titles is holding off on developing games for the PS3 untl there are more units in people's homes (around 2009, 3 years after release, which is when Sony consoles reach their stride, and have a greater market penetration, and major price drops), and the media is like, "OMFG!! SNK, THE BIGGEST AND BEST DEVELOPER IN THE GAMING INDUSTRY ISN'T MAKING ANY PS3 GAMES UNTIL 2009!!! THE CONSOLE WAR IS OVER!! PS3/TITANIC REFERENCE HERE!!"

we know the price is expensive (*anything* at $500/$600 is). but there's a lot of good news in there also:
the PS3 will be at least 95% compatible with PS1 and PS2 games, if not 100%.
contrary to popular belief, Blu Ray, like DVD will become very necessary to gaming. at the start of the PS2's life cycle, people proclaimed that the space of a DVD was excessive. we now know that that was a foolish jumped conclusion.
PS3 online will be free, and i'm sure games like Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Untold Legends, Warhawk, and Resistance will have free multiplayer.
the controller isn't that silly boomerang design and the system supports up to 7 controllers, so a multitap won't be needed when friends are over (though they will have to bring their PS3 controllers over)
the console still has the support of practically every major Japanese developer in the industry, as well as European and US developers.
unlike the PS2, the PS3 is incredibly powerful, so owners won't have to constantly get barraged by dissenters about the "inferior" console (everytime i got in a coversation with X Box fans, i had to constantly be reminded, every few seconds, that the X Box was the superior system, and the PS2 was lame and inferior. now, the tables have turned, or at least have been evened out).
in a years time, PS3's will be more readily available to the masses, not so coincidentally alongside a price drop (by at least $50 to $100 dollars) and killer software (MGS4 and FFXIII, to name a few).
there's plenty of good, once people stop eating up the FUD like it's Soilent Green.
