Argos gives zero-percent credit options to UK PS3 pre-orders

Pre-orders now being taken by Argos - Image 1Argos is now accepting pre-orders of the long-awaited next-gen console. UK customers can now pre-order their own PS3 ahead of the launch, but with a six month, 0% interest payment plan on credit. Delivery to the home isn't free though and adds another £ 5 (US$ 9.83) to the total costs.

It is widely believed that other well-known UK retailers will follow suit soon, while Sony has been in constant contact with them with regards to the launch. We could be more certain that they probably are talking with GAME to see if they can offer a similar payment option.

With the questions of the PS3's hefty price tag for Europe and the UK, this is probably Sony's best move yet to appease the European market after hinting a no-price-cut policy.

Check the Read link below for more info on how to register for your pre-order.

What the hell are you drinking? It's probably expensive whatever it is because everything costs the earth in the UK. I'm renting a studio apartment in London and it costs £200 per week. That's just nuts and puts the PS3 back into a realistic perspective. The Wii also costs the equivalent of $350US here!!!!

I care about the PS3. And guess what? So do a lot of other people.

And in case you didn't notice, the import tax and VAT is imposed by the government, not Sony. That makes up a lot of the £425 price tag.

I called their main phone line 2 times and they say they don't have interest free credit on it. If i want to preorder i have to pay the full price now.

You apply for an argos card (store card) to pay for the order when ordering online. You then have 3 or 6 months to pay the balance without incurring interest (your choice).

please can someone explain how to choose to have interest free credit

i went through the online purhcase form and firstly, it said the item could be posted next week (surely an error on their part) but I also couldn't find an interest free credit option without going through entering my payment details and hitting enter, something I dont want to do until i have the £425 in my account.

Once you enter payment details, are you then charged, or is it on the next screen that the offer is available
