Now THIS is a bundle - Image 1With this year's Tokyo Game Show right around the corner, speculations and expectations are bound to come in bulk. For one, simExchange believes that Sony will announce either a US$ 100 price-cut or an added-value bundle for the PlayStation 3.

Jesse Divinch of simExchange sees a widening gap between Xbox 360 and PS3 sales in favor of Microsoft's console that released earlier and figured that Sony needs to dish out a good deal to elevate sales.

He believes that a price drop that will result in more money lost per console sold won't hurt as much as losing third-party support if developers and publishers decide to support the better selling Xbox 360 instead.

The best time to unveil such huge move, as you would've guessed, is during TGS '07. simExchange reached that conclusion after taking figures from simExchange's own prediction market where gamers and developers try their hand at industry forecasting.

» Its dollars NOT Pounds

Firstly thats DOLLERS $ NOT POUNDS so its no where near £100 off, and the person below who said they are at £329 is also WRONG that place sells the now DROPPED FLOPPED 60 gig model for £350 not including P+P plus they DO NOT actually have any of that model in stock and I cant see how they are going to be getting the 60 gig model now that Sony have got rid of them all and no longer make it..

And you can bet the 120gig Elite which really is under £300 will either drop price or bundle say Gears if this were to happen anyway..

» Sony already done their price cut though I dont know if you could really call it a price cut though

Sony already made their move with the $100 off, it was only for USA and Japan though and all they was doing was selling off the now dropped 20 and 60 gig models which also had the PS2 hardware which the current 80 gig model no longer has..
