Analyst Todd Greenwald: CoD4 can outperform Halo 3 |

A lot of guys are reportedly enjoying their copy of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare from Infinity Ward for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC. And from the looks of it, even the industry analysts are taking notice.As Todd Greenwald of Nollenberger Capital Partners noted during a recent interview, the game's overall sales and ratings give it the potential to hold its own again the likes of Microsoft's Halo 3. As Greenwald stated:
Thus far, the game has an average score of 9.5/10 on Metacritic.com, which is almost unprecedented and puts it on par with Halo 3. It certainly is the highest-rated game Activision has ever created. Keep in mind, CoD4 is launching on four times as many platforms (Xbox 360, PlayStation3, PC, DS) as Halo 3. Halo 3 has so far sold about 4 million units. A year ago, Call of Duty 3 sold about 3 million units, and we anticipate this year's version could do four million or more.
Greenwald also stated that demand for CoD4 in the local retailers has grown to the point that only pre-orders are being satisfied. Given that CoD4 launched just a few days ago, we'll let you know if future updates will confirm Greenwald's expectations. because halo 3 sucks XD
because they would total the sales on all 4 consoles....
It will not even come close to selling as many on a single platform...
Not that selling lot's means anything....Mcdonalds sells alot more "food" then any gourmet restraunt, but that doesn't mean it's better...

I rent the halo 3 game... I can't believe that game have so many ratings... it was the worst shooter in the market but oh welll... that what makes a name... call of duty I rent it today so let's see

But the game is WAY better than halo3. I just had it one hour ago, and WOW! The best FPS start of my life. I though crysis was going to be the best FPS this year, but COD4 is looking way better! :D. Man, the beat intro is perfect! And how the ennemies die is so realistic in this game! The only thing I dislike is that my old PC (not so old) need to stop the antialiasing to output the graphics, so it's looking GREAT and ulgy at the same time, lol. But I know it's looking amazing since I saw it at a Dell "store", a guy was playing it on a dell XPS with a 24" monitor, WOW!
Oh, and I say that even if I didn't knew a thing about COD before the 4th! (I'm not a big FPS fan), so I suppose that a LOT more poeple will buy COD4 than COD3!
OK Sony Fanboy playing Halo 3 and thinking it's over rated. Were you already rolling your eyes as you were opening the cse?
Personally I played COD4 and Halo 3 and enjoyed Halo 3 HEAPS more.

I'm not a psfanboy, yes I prefer the ps3 but not a psfanboy... so many times here I said gears of war was the better game of any platform in the past when I was unregistered and even with and without this nick.. and many people always called me a xbox fan boy in the past... now that I said that halo doesn't was fun... hell, if a game really wasn't fun I will say it doen't matter if is in the ps3 or 360...
If u really like the game and not because u are a fan boy? well... cool... but even friends who are xboxfanboys said it wasn't a wow... and if u don't believe me my user name in the 360 is CMARGARY PR, look in the 360 that I was playing the game, but I can't even keep playing it
Ok dude point taken. I take it back. Personally I couldn't get into Halo 2, Halo 3 was a welcome trip back to Halo 1 for me Co-op play and MP is awesome.
I can understand why people are loving COD4, I'm just not felling it the same way at the moment. *sigh*
me neither... I rent it like 5 hours ago and still I haven't played it... so... when I will play it maybe I will or I will not lol... anyway I played the beta in the 360 and was awsome
To those who really believe that halo 3 dont suck isnt really looking at the big picture. Halo 3 is not a real next gen title like they hyped it up to be. I ended that game 5 days after it came out and its still basically the same as Halo 2 in graphics game play. Its a upscaled version of Halo 2 on the 360 at best. This CoD4 graphic's are sick you can see where the quality of this game is over Halo thats why its rated higher in a lot of places and preferred more in other places. I have both systems and CoD4 is better on the PS3. This isnt a Fanboy comment to those d1cke@ting ***ches that will call somebody that. Im being real on dis.
cod 4 is much better than halo 3 but halo 3 is still a good game
and i fount warhawk better than halo 2, my opinion anyway
It's funny that you mock the length of Halo 3 campaign when COD4 campaign is only 4 to 5 hours. I've seen the HD comparison of both versions and there is nothing between them.

Call of Duty always have a short story mode... allllllways... thats true.. and no... many people wants to compare the both games but isn't to much difference, point to DVSDevise for this one lol...
