Analyst: Halo 3's sales indicates Grand Theft Auto 4's potential success

We all know what a big success Bungie's Halo 3 turned out to be, but what about the other big game, Grand Theft Auto 4? According to Take-Two Interactive's financial consultant, Mike Hickey, the success of Halo 3 means that GTA4 will do as well as Master Chief's final fight.

Hickey enumerated the things that made Halo 3 a winner in the gaming charts: "accelerating and rabid fan base, a current market thirst for compelling high quality content and this iterationÂ’s early cycle release." And what do these factors have in common? Grand Theft Auto 4 would most likely receive the same benefits as well.

The analyst is also not worried about GTA 4's lost advantage of a holiday release, due to a Spring 2008 delay. "Halo 3Â’s initial retail success was in a non-holiday release period," he said, proving that the highly-successful (to date) Grand Theft Auto franchise also doesn't need the leverage given by a holiday release date.
