Alone in the Dark PS3 delayed, other builds still on track - Image 1Here's some potentially upsetting news for all of you who've been waiting for the arrival of Alone in the Dark on the Playstation 3: a representative from publisher Atari has confirmed to online site Eurogamer that the PS3 build of the game will not make its expected Q1 2008 release window.

The spokesperson failed to name a new date (or even a tentative one), giving the impression that Alone in the Dark for PlayStation 3 has been delayed indefinitely. Despite this, the representative said that the Xbox 360 and PC builds of the title will be released before the fiscal year in March 2008 ends.

Alone in the Dark is actually the fifth entry in the successful franchise. Developer Eden Games was unable to provide an explanation for the delay.

» This is getting old

When are developers going to get their act together with the PS3. If they would just develop for the PS3 and then port over to the 360 it would make everyones life a hell of a lot easier. Start with the PS3 then port to the 360 , it's a lot easier than the opposite. As a matter of fact didn't the developer for Ninja Gaiden say that or was it someone else. I don't know but I'm sure someone said it. lol

Yeah the way the memory is set up in PS3 compared to the 360 is why it is easier to go from the PS3 to the 360.

But I think devs are afraid to do that due to the cell and the lower sales of the PS3.

Plus they have a years more experience with programming for the 360. So they probably feel more confident in making games for it. Then they are forced to do a PS3 version and they find out that porting to the fixed memory of the PS3 is extremely hard to do and are screwed.

» The only winner is the PC

I'm not wasting any money on a PS3 or Xbox 360, I am going to buy a PC. Almost every game is for PS3 and PC or Xbox 360 and PC.

The lesson that we all have to learn is BUY A PC.

And that's why you're hoping that Crysis will be able to save the PC. If it flops, lmao. LMAO.

What's next? Doom 4? HL3?

FPS games aren't the holy grail of gaming. Graphics don't mean shiet. Gameplay surpasses all.

» Not True

Not almost every game is for PS3 and PC or 360 and PC. Most 360 games yeah but not most PS3 games. The only answer is to get them all. That gets pretty pricey though. So I'll stick to my consoles where I don't have to constantly upgrade to be able to play the latest games. Pc gaming is too expensive and in all honesty there isn't much on PC that we don't get on the console side, except for strategy games which I'm honestly not interested in. Perhaps when I get a raise I'll get a PC but for now consoles are just fine for me. In reality you'll be missing out on a lot more games than I will, but that's your prerogative.
